Don't forget when you file to claim a few MPs and Senators as your dependants!

MPs at work earning $12000 a month. Give them credit for at least showing up, some don't!

I say he should open the constitution and deal with the senate and while he's at it redefine the defintion of marriage to include morphodites who wish to marry.

Gary - what do you suggest as Senate Reform?

I agree with your view Pierre. Harper has a long list of lies which he used to lure in the easily gullible.

I'll wait for a response from the peanut gallery to your question.

Re: Income tax 2013

Do the conservative partisans who regularly contribute to these boards remember Harper promoting a "Triple E" Senate before becoming Prime Minister?

What do you think of the concept of a "Triple E" Senate?

For those who forgot, a Triple E Senate means: equal, elected, effective.

Psychology 101 - This Is Brilliant!!

Simple truth....... If you start with a cage containing five monkeys and inside the
cage, hang a banana on a string from the top and then you place a set
of stairs under the banana, before long a monkey will go to the stairs and climb toward the banana.
As soon as he touches the stairs, you spray all the monkeys with cold water.

After a while another monkey makes an attempt with same result
... all the monkeys are sprayed with cold water.

Pretty soon when another monkey tries to climb the stairs, the other monkeys
will try to prevent it.

Now, put the cold water away.
Remove one monkey from the cage and replace it with a new one.
The new monkey sees the banana and attempts to climb the
stairs. To his shock, all of the other monkeys beat the **bleep** out
of him.
After another attempt and attack, he knows that if he tries to
climb the stairs he will be assaulted.

Next, remove another of the original five monkeys, replacing it
with a new one.

The newcomer goes to the stairs and is attacked. The previous
newcomer takes part in the punishment...... with enthusiasm,
because he is now part of the "team".

Then, replace a third original monkey with a new one, followed by
the fourth, then the fifth. Every time the newest monkey takes
to the stairs, he is attacked.

Now, the monkeys that are beating him up have no idea why they
were not permitted to climb the stairs. Neither do they know why
they are participating in the beating of the newest monkey.

Finally, having replaced all of the original monkeys, none of the
remaining monkeys will have never been sprayed with cold water.
Nevertheless, not one of the monkeys will try to climb the
stairway for the banana.
Why, you ask? Because in their minds...that is the way it has
always been!
.
This, my friends, is how the Senate operates...
and this is why, from time to time:
ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME.
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."--Unknown

"ALL of the monkeys need to be REPLACED AT THE SAME TIME."

That is a great idea. And I think it should be implemented with the next parliament.

Let's get rid of the Liberals and Conservatives in the Senate and replace them all by neo-democrats who will most likely hold power in the next House of Commons.

Great solution!  Proposed by a conservative supporter yet!

Re: Income tax 2013

Justin Trudeau walks into a Royal Bank to cash a cheque. As he
approaches the cashier he says, "Good morning, Ma'am, could you please
cash this cheque for me?"
*
Cashier:
"It would be my pleasure sir. Could you please show me your ID?"
Trudeau:
"Truthfully, I did not bring my ID with me as I didn't
think there was any need to. I am Justin Trudeau, the leader of the
Liberal Party of Canada!!!!"
*
Cashier:
"Yes sir, I know who you are, but with all the
regulations and monitoring of the banks because of impostors and
forgers and requirements of the CIDC legislation, etc., I must insist
on seeing ID."
*
Trudeau:
Just ask anyone here at the bank who I am and they
will tell you. Everybody knows who I am."
*
Cashier:
"I am sorry, Mr. Trudeau, but these are the bank rules
and I must follow them."
*
Trudeau:
"Mon dieu. I am urging you, please, to cash this cheque."
Cashier:
"Look Mr. Trudeau, here is an example of what we can do.
One day, Tiger Woods came into the bank without ID. To prove he was
Tiger Woods he pulled out his putter and made a beautiful shot across
the bank into a cup. With that shot we knew him to be Tiger Woods and
cashed his cheque.

Another time, Andre Agassi came in without ID. He pulled out his
tennis racket and made a fabulous shot whereas the tennis ball landed
in my cup. With that shot we cashed his cheque.

* So, Mr. Trudeau, what can you do to prove that it is you, and only you?

Trudeau:
Trudeau stands there thinking, and thinking, and
finally says, "Honestly, my mind is a total blank...there is nothing
that comes to my mind. I can't think of a single thing.
I have
absolutely no idea what to do and I don't have a clue."

Cashier:
"Will that be large or small bills, Mr. Trudeau?

Re: Income tax 2013

The truth in Ontario today is that public sector workers enjoy an unfair advantage when it comes to salary, benefits, and pensions when compared to their private sector counterparts.
When you consider that the public sector has grown by 300,000 workers while private sector unions have lost 100,000 jobs in the last 10 years, the impact on our economy and on hardworking Ontarians is clear.
Under the McGuinty-Wynne Liberals, Ontario families are being asked to pay more and more to support the salaries and benefits of public sector unions, which they themselves do not have.
Do you think that's fair?

Seniors Leaving Canada
News Flash from offshore Nova Scotia ----

The Canadian Navy intercepted three boatloads of people off the east coast of Canada today. This placed the Navy in an awkward position, as the boats were not heading to, but away from Canada towards the Middle East.  Another surprise finding was that they were loaded with Canadians who were all seniors of pension age. Their claim was that they were trying to get to the Middle East so as to be able to return to Canada as illegal immigrants and therefore be entitled to far more benefits than they were receiving as  legitimate Canadian pensioners.  The Navy, it is believed, gave them food, water and fuel and assisted them on their journey. We are booking the next boat out, let me know if you want to come.

Ooops Valve - you made a small mistake in your post.

Since the main message involves Canadians seniors leaving Canada, your opening should read:

"Under the Harper Conservatives, Canadian families are being asked....."

Re: Income tax 2013

Do not most of the benefits for immigrants come from the provinces? Last time I looked the Liberals were in power for the last ten years in Ontario and still are unfortunately.
