The Justin Trudeau Brand

Political parties and leaders engage in branding just like corporations and products.

How would you define the Justin Trudeau brand?

Thank you,

I’ve been thinking about this question since you posed it last night. I feel like regular Canadians lack the capacity to discern and articulate those things that define a celebrity or political ‘brand’. That’s a question to pose to others in marketing who understand fully what ‘branding’ is all about.

To regular folks like us, I think the question needs to be rephrased to get your point across in terms we readily understand. Like, “How would you describe Justin Trudeau in six words or less?”

Surely, that would be an easier question to answer and one that delivers the same data as that which you seek. (For reasons unknown. I’m going to assume it’s research for a book? Lecture? Op-Ed piece?)

So.

Q. How do I define JT in six words or less?

A. Better Than Donald Trump: not embarrassing.

Or maybe

‘Not AS Embarrassing as Donald Trump” to more accurately reflect my feelings but keep it under my self-imposed six-word limit.

Also, we don’t get into politics much here. If you want to pour gasoline on a fire, ask on the eBay.com boards. We’re the Friendly Canadian side.
