Bye bye ebay

This new tax situation is more than enough reason to leave eBay. I am actively involved in my hobby. Spending and selling. A good $700-$1000/month. This is not a business for me. There are plenty of ways to accomplish this, and ebay is no longer going to be one of them for me. I'm not paying 13% tax when buying a hockey card from a teenager who lives across the country. Nor should people pay it to me. Nor should any of this be declared as income. After 20 years... GOODBYE EBAY

Re: Bye bye ebay

The new sales tax requirement has nothing to do with income tax But as far as I know, if you are buying to resell , that is considered as income and should be declared as such.

Re: Bye bye ebay

I don't buy to resell. Some items get resold, but I'm a collector.

no need to announce, just exit stage left and move on...

The rest of the eBay world isn't going to care one way or another...

This has been in the works for the last few years and has NOTHING to do with eBay, try blaming the politicians you voted for as they pushed for this...

Re: Bye bye ebay

"A good $700-$1000/month." That's actually considered INCOME on a regular basis... or at least the CRA would see it that way...

"There are plenty of ways to accomplish this" better not brag too much the CRA is everywhere...
