You're very welcome. The link to the actual ebay.com Announcement is here http://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/Stronger-Browser-Security-Standards-Ahead/ba-p/27389922 but it didn't make its way to the ebay Canada Announcement page yet.

Why does eBay want that and to hurt sellers?  It seems that eBay is now becoming no more fun and is now becoming not safe.

I think you've misunderstood.

Google is the one doing this; ebay is aware of the impact, and suggests sellers minimize their own effect by complying with the following recommendations:

Some key takeaways from the announcement:
  • If you want your listings to show the complete item description, you will need to remove HTTP content from your listings.
  • eBay will email sellers who have listings that contain HTTP, starting August 28th
  • eBay will begin using the HTTPS communications protocol for all listings starting in October.
  • In the future, eBay will move all eBay store pages to HTTPS.
  • Do not include contact info and links to off-eBay websites.
Information in italics is quoted form the ecommerce article linked above.

What does HTTP looks like and how do we know we have that or not?

Unfortunately, I am not qualified to answer that question.

Dang it, see I don't even know how to actually tag people. Maybe they will come along.

Instead of http://   at the beginning of the url on the address bar it will say https://

If you go to any payment page you'll see that it already says https.  On my pc other addresses on ebay don't show the http designation at all. That might change once they system is changed over to https???
