Bugs in the selling software

I use Windows 10 software and have constant problems with your selling software. It will only partially save a draft after waiting half an hour. The cancel button does not work and I am forced to close the program. I give an extended desription of the item I am selling and most times get only a partial save and then have to re-write the description again. When changing a Buy It Now item to an auction item it will not update to a starting price or a buy it now price.  Then I try to save the draft which does not work and I am back to square one wasting my time. Anyone else have the same problems?

Re: Bugs in the selling software

Are you using a desktop computer and browser? Or a mobile device with the eBay app?

Are you clearing your browser cache and cookies often?

What browser are you using?

I have my browser options set to delete cookies and cache when I exit the browser.  I also have three browsers installed. I dislike Microsoft Edge because it causes issues. Google Chrome works well and so does FireFox.

Re: Bugs in the selling software

To create listings on ebay.ca I use the classic Sell Your Item form on my Desktop PC running Windows 10. Long experience has shown me that during MOST sessions of any duration the SYI form does eventually hang-up either while trying to upload photos or after hitting the update/submit listing button. Once that spinning circle starts up for any length of time the listing will almost never upload successfully. What I do when that happens is just close the hung-up SYI form right away and head on over to my drafts folder where most of the time I do find a draft version. Typically, I am able to "complete the draft" from there with no further problems, the listing generally uploads normally on the second try.

In my opinion, the save draft option found at the bottom of the SYI form is definitely NOT a reliable or desirable method of saving listings that the seller wants to list at some future date.  Whenever I have listings that I don't want to list imediately I always use the Scheduled listing feature found on the SYI form, that feature functions very reliably and for non-store subcribers it is free to use. Works especially well for starting listings on preferred days and time of day. As I recall I think listings can be scheduled to start 3 weeks into the future, this can be extended very easily.

Re: Bugs in the selling software

I use Safari (Apple) on my desktop computer and have had the same thing happen a few times but only in the last few weeks. For years I could be working on a listing, walk away and come back hours later and continue with no problems.  Since the recent changes (not sure which as there have been so many!) I've ran into problems where I input all the rest of my info and it spins on forever. As someone else mentioned do check your drafts because what I was working on prior to leaving is still there in drafts, just not the newer parts.

After a few times of it happening I try to remember to "save as draft" until I come back...like in the old days when stuff didn't automatically save and you could accidentally lose that 20 page document you were working on if you didn't hit "save" periodically!

The above issue has been going on for over a month or 2 (Chrome/Edge). Walk away and try to complete and send and it just spins its wheels. There should still be a draft in progress. Sometimes it will be up to date...other times you will have to re-finish. Best to just open in a new window. Then you can send when you're happy. The other one in up in the air mode still spinning can now be closed.
