Counterfeit stamps

Has anybody tried to have ebay remove sellers who are probably selling counterfeit current stamps from Canada and other countries.

There is no way a seller can sell current Canadian stamps at around 20% of face value and the stamps are genuine.

I have contacted ebay and some sellers get removed but then they show up as new sellers.  They even use the same descriptions  of the lots.

About a year ago, I posted on this forum about a seller in China offering what were obviously counterfeit Canadian stamps and included a link to the listing. This got me in trouble with Ebay for supposedly posting private information, although once a seller posts a listing, the information contained therein is of course no longer private, which was something I could not get the Ebay representative with whom I communicated to understand. The Ebay representative warned me not to repeat my 'mistake'. At no time did he express any concern about the counterfeit stamps.

So when I tried to do something about the issue of counterfeit Canadian stamps being sold on their website, Ebay took no action against the seller but did take action against me.

eBay and Etsy both turn a blind eye to counterfeits/fakes/knockoffs...they simply DON'T CARE anymore! These sites could easily set up the means to "catch" such activity but they choose not to bother as it means time & money spent to engage in stopping and preventing these illegal activities...THAT costs $ and THAT eats into the company "profits" >It is easier to ignore the activity. These sites have 0 integrity anymore 0 ethics and don't care how they fill their pockets..it's all about the money, how much $ the site can rake in...and the source of that $ matters not. This is the way of the world in the 21st century....It seems to be back to that "if you can't beat'em,join'em" attitude.

While valid postage is for sale on eBay (Full disclosure: I sell discount Canadian and US postage) Anyone who thinks they are getting  valid postage at 20% of face is at best stupid and more likely turning a blind eye to forgery.

Most "dangerous" are booklets of recent stamps particularly the Canadian P stamps and USPS Forever stamps.

Depending on the face value, 10% to 40%* off is more likely.

The valid postage comes mostly from collector estates.

Many collectors have a subscription for new stamps with the Philatelic Fulfillment centres, who send them monthly or quarterly packages, sometimes of multiples of issues.

The valid postage is likely to be mixed issues some produced years apart.

You could probably report them to Canada Post, who could likely VERO the counterfeit sellers.
