Expedited Lite weight update

Hi,

Anyone knows when the maximum weight for Expedited Lite will be updated to 250 grams as announced on Dec. 08? No date was specified in the announcement and there is still no weight update.

When ebay does rolls the new specifications out, keep in mind Canada Post may not apply the specifications yet on their end and you could be charged full expedited rates instead.

Re: Expedited Lite weight update

This is why I always keep tabs on my "Payments > All Transactions" page, sometimes companies screw up big time and way overcharge you for shipping, I've had to dispute FedEx for charging me $100 on two different packages and UPS recently tried charging me $206 for shipping saying the weight and dimensions were not correct on a pair of 150 gram Lululemon workout shorts. I called eBay every time and they got me my money back.

According to a test just with the ebay calculator the rates are now working for up to 250 grams.

You should be given the option to use that service if an item falls under the 250 gram limit now. Because most sellers set their listings up based on 200 grams buyers will not see the option when they go to pay. Unfortunately, afaik the only way to update listings between 200 and 250 would be to manually go in and update. At your discretion if customer pays for expedited and expedited lite is applicable you could refund.

If anyone is aware of a way of editing 100s of listings easily, please pass it along.

@devon@ebay do you know if anything is in the works at eBay's end for editing shipping based on weight modification updates? Bulk editing is very clunky and not super useful if you have 100's of listings to edit when it comes to available shipping services.

Any chance of getting an option to add both flat rate and calculated to the listing options a seller sees when creating a listing.

Any chance of adding a 3rd choice applicable to eIS for specifically sending tracked to hub. So system overrides default letter service when a US buyer attempts to pay?

It appears the eBay postage calculator has been amended to show the 201 to 250 grams. Problem being when you go to correct/update a listing those amounts get blocked. This is the eBay message I just got in trying to fix a listing that "should" qualify.  The announcement was Dec 5 about the change. It is now Dec 23 and is affecting qualifying items from showing accurate shipping rates. Unsure if this is also affecting the procedure for buyer to see correct shipping options and seller to process. Important to understand, if a listing was created ages ago when limit was 200 grams there is no way to find listings that NOW qualify for the increased weight limit maximum except listing by listing, 1 at a time. Does eBay have plans to correct this ASAP?

eBay error message:  Package weight is over the weight limit for service Canada Post Expedited Lite. The maximum weight is 200 g.

Just put 200g in your listing (that's what I've been doing). You can always leave a note in the SKU to change it later.

@flipistics

I have 2200 listings generated over a number of years, many before expedited lite was a thing. And that 200 previously could be affected by pkg measurements.

It doesn't help for this problem, but when looking at what was available I discovered that the bulk edit tool allows you to see what listings are missing a COO and which ones have a COO auto assigned by eBay. You can also bulk edit the weight, you just can't see what the current weight is 🙄.
