Sending messages in eBay

Is eBay aware there is a recurring issue with sending general messages to mostly eBay sellers but can happen when sending to buyers also. Error message is as follows.

Looks like something went wrong. Please try again later.

You can try later but you will get same error message.  It can also happen when responding to a message or trying to include an eBay help link. 50/50 when trying to send an outside of eBay help link like a Canada post page.

The problem may be related to message threading; if I try to send a new message to a user I have already exchanged messages with previously, even if I start from the user's profile and choose "not about an item", the old message thread is opened and attempts to send a new message fail.

Hi devon@ebay This is a variation error message sending a message to another seller using their link in a listing.
