Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler

I have been reading on the US boards that ebay has suddenly taken away their ability to customize a printable packing slip/invoice. No more message or logos etc. Why is that? Will eBay Canada do the same? I did check and at the moment I still have the ability to customize on .ca.
I personally use the pay pal packing slip but once on MP there will only be eBay available to print one.
As a seller with an HST Business Number, it is a requirement to show your biz number to clients so I have it on my customized message to include with the parcel.
Also, when sending outside of Canada you often need to have an invoice/packing slip on the outside of the parcel for customs clearance purposes (due to value or country of destination). I would like that packing slip to remain customizable.
Thanks Mandy

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler
I understand you mentioned next week will be a MP Q&A but this question is time sensitive.
Those sellers who are mandated to sign up/register by July 15 or risk having their ability to list new items restricted, who do not have a proper bank acct set up in order to register, what can be done to excuse that consequence until said bank acct is available?
With COVID, the ability to personally visit a bank to set up proper banking needs is hit and miss. And I believe you cannot bypass that requirement in the MP sign up process.
Thanks Mandy

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler

Some sellers have noticed that the "sell an item like this" feature is now restricted to the platform the originating listing appears on. It used to be available no matter what platform the item was listed on.
What is the reasoning behind this?
Thanks

Mandy

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hi Tyler

Sellers showing overdue notices on their "to be shipped" items.

I have seen it posted a few times, on various boards and I have something to add that may help the tech team figure this out.
Those sellers who have 2 or more days handling that are seeing the past due warning on their transactions that shipping is overdue (when it is not) it is because they sent an invoice to the buyer.
The warning for overdue shows because the seller has sent the buyer an invoice, and in sending that invoice, it switches the transaction to SAME DAY SHIPPING. If no invoice is sent, the date to ship remains as whatever handling time the seller has noted. If an invoice is sent (and paid), then you see the overdue notice. I have one right now. I have 2 day handling. One item was paid yesterday without an invoice and I don't have to ship till July 2. The one I sent a combined invoice yesterday June 29 (and paid yesterday) says shipping is overdue, that it was supposed to be sent yesterday Jun 29 (same day).
Ok techies....go fix this!!! 🙂

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hello Tyler,

Putting this out there due to its critical nature. So when Managed Payments kicks in, what will be available for help? As a given, help WILL be essential, with an assortment of useful options, in a prompt manner for Canadian specific concerns? Will there be dedicated phone lines, email messaging, online chat or the new go to Facebook/Twitter? Please understand, not everyone has confidence or has accounts with Facebook/Twitter.

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Hi tyler, soon, in July, we will have to begin ending some of those extra items that we were given as part of the 50,000 free listings for store owners. I didn’t list all 50,000😀 but did manage about 150 extra. I have about 80 to 90 I will need to start ending. Will there be any consequences because of ending so many items? Will this affect my store listings from being shown (other than I won’t have as many items up for sale)? Just wondering!

Re: July 1 2020 Weekly Session

Just noticed, the 50,000 free listings are good now until July 31st. I think that means I won’t have to begin ending extra listings until August. Is that correct?

Hi @mandicrafts - the eBay.com packing slip was changed to remove the free-form text box for security purposes, to prevent code from being input in the box, etc.

I have not heard any plans to do something similar on eBay.ca.

Thanks!

Hi @mandicrafts - if you've been asked to enroll in managed payments by July 15 or risk consequences to your listing and aren't able to open a bank account before then please contact a managed payments teammate (or ask that they contact you, I think that's the option that's turned on at the bottom of the help page). They can help review any options that are available.

Thanks for the lead @mandicrafts! I'll get it to the tech folks and hopefully we'll see it help them get it resolved.

Sorry if the chat being opened today upset you @Anonymous! On weeks when I'm in the office, we have them on Wednesdays (regardless of holidays). If I'm taking time off and it crosses a Wednesday I'll either cancel the chat or move it to a different day, if possible.

If you plan on being out and about today but still have questions you're always able to tag me to a thread on the main boards like Seller Central. Thanks!

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies - yes, there will be assistance available for managed payments by phone call, email, just as there is today if your account has been notified to register for managed payments.

If your account has not received notification to enroll there isn't anything that would be required of you in July for the program. Thanks!

Hi @esclyons - thanks for letting me know about this, it sounds like the issue that @mandicrafts described. Not sure how quickly we'll see it fixed, but I'm hoping it's not too much longer.

Thanks!

Hi @msmaggie060 - glad to know you don't have a full 50k to end! 😛

There aren't any issues with you ending that many items at once, no ramifications for your account at all or your items' visibility.

Thanks!

Hi @msmaggie060 - that math is correct - with the promotion ending the end of July you'd want to start ending items in August as they get near their renewal dates. 🙂
