Hi Tyler,
I had a non paying buyer for 3 large lots of jewelry last week. Had to wait 8 days to relist them. I had promoted the listings but noticed I was not credited back the fees for one of the items. Shouldn't the Ad Fee be refunded with a non-paying bidder item. Since I am in managed payments now, I had no final value fees to credit back to me, as I wasn't charged any as payment never went through. But thought I would get the promoted listing ad fee refunded. Seems only fair as the sale never went through.
Also had a big problem with another buyer wanting free shipping. I have now placed the person on my blocked list. But will they still show up as a watcher on my items? What happens if I send an offer to them & they are now blocked? I don't want to sell to them anymore. Is a blocked buyer no longer showing up as a watcher?
Thanks

Hey there,
I keep getting this error when I try to list, why is that?

The ad fee should show up as a credit when you receive your invoice.

You should explain in more detail what 'this' error is so that tyler will have a better chance of helping. What is the error message and when does it happen?

I was just at the post office and the teller told me that express post to India is taking 5 weeks. To send a regular letter from Calgary to Newfoundland will take approximately 3 weeks. I asked why and she said that reduced air travel due to Covid is leaving mail just sitting idle.
My question is why did Ebay remove the seller protection for late shipment defects as of October 1 when the mail systems of the world are still so slow and as the second wave hits it is just going to get worse. I find this concerning and perplexing? Perhaps you tell us how Ebay plans to protect sellers in this environment.

Managed Payments….Information for Canadian Sellers
Available for a payout…..The following is information from eBay Canada
“Available funds: The amount you will be paid in your next payout. Generally, funds that appear Available are the total of all completed transactions, excluding applicable fees or any transactions on hold.”
The wording … excluding applicable fees ….. is not correct for Canadian sellers that will eventually use Managed Payments on eBay Canada
On eBay Canada Payouts only contain the total for item price plus shipping.... No FVF is deducted before the money is sent to a seller's bank account.

How Managed Payments works on eBay Canada is different than on eBay.com.
I am using Managed Payments and can see what the difference is for Canadian sellers…. And then why it is different.
The main difference is how FVF are paid by a Canadian seller..
The process on eBay Canada follows the rules and regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency...... Canadian law...
An invoice must contain all fees upon which GST/HST is calculated. Therefore for Canadian sellers FVF are included in the monthly invoice. GST/HST is calculated and reported on the total of store subscription plus FVF as well as other fees that may occur.
Therefore for sellers on eBay Canada all fees for a transaction are charged in the monthly invoice and not deducted before the money for each transaction is paid out to a seller’s bank account.

The information presented for Managed Payments for Canadian sellers that will eventually use Managed Payments must describe the process that Canadian sellers will use. The information must not be the information for US sellers on eBay.com.
How Managed Payments works on eBay Canada is based on meeting what is expressed in Canadian law, and the rules and regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency.

This is the reality for Managed Payment for all Canadian sellers on eBay Canada.....

This is my experience so far with Managed Payments. I received 4 payouts to my bank in the last week. It takes anywhere from 2-4 days to go through. And all the eBay fees are taken off first from the gross amount & then the net amount is deposited.
So we are now charged 11.5% in fees. That includes final value fees on the item & shipping. A one time fee of .30 on each transaction. An international conversion fee. And then taxes added on to all the fees.
My monthy invoice doesn't contain any of those fees. Just my store subscription & any Promoted ad fees.

Is GST/HST calculated on your invoice?
How is GST/HST calculated and reported for eBay fees?
They only to do this if the fees are in the invoice.
You may have to wait a month or two before everything is seen on your invoice.

I had an order of $42.49 (included item & shipping) CAD
Fees deducted:
Final value fee - $4.40 + Tax 0.22 = $4.62
Fixed fee - 0.30 + Tax 0.02 = 0.32
International fee - 0.17 + Tax 0.01 = 0.18
Total Fees - $5.12
Amount Deposited to Bank Account - $37.37 CAD

Markdown sales STILL not working on dotCA
Apparently it's a known issue... this is extremely frustrating since this is prime selling time right now. I'm assuming none of them are going to work for Black Friday sales either. . wonderful.
When features don't work, maybe store subscribers should get a discount since we can't make sales without a ton of extra work to 'manually' mark down prices (and still don't get the benefit of it showing the %off in listing).
Any idea when this is going to be resolved?

So we are now charged 11.5% in fees.....International fee - 0.17 + Tax 0.01 = 0.18....
Could you cross check that with a Canadian sale in Canadian dollars to see if the 11.5% only applies when we pay the "international" fee on a non-Canada sale ?
I am not in MP yet, and I think pay 3.7% + 30c to PP on a sale to an American buyer.
The arithmetic baffles me. Sorry.

When I use Managed Payment I receive an invoice with all fees presented and the value for GST/HST calculated on those fees.....store subscription plus FVF.
This process follows the rules and regulations as presented by the Canada Revenue Agency.
The other Canadian seller that is here does not have a "correct" format for the invoice.... Managed Payments for the other seller follows the Managed Payments used by sellers on eBay.com... where... Fees for the total of item price plus shipping cost are deducted from this total before the money is transferred to a seller's bank account..
In order to follow the rules and regulations of Canada Revenue Agency, all Canadian sellers must use the Managed Payments process used by me.
Therefore my Managed Payments option must not be changed.... it is correct in relation to what is presented in the invoice.... The most important number is the GST/HST charged on the total amount of fees presented in an invoice.
The correct reality for Managed Payments for all Canadian sellers is the Managed Payments that I am using.
eBay has to make an adjustment if Managed Payments used by a Canadian seller does not present a correct invoice with a value for GST/HST in an invoice that follows the rules and regulations of the Canada Revenue Agency.

Hi @2nd-time-around-jewelry - sorry about the bad luck this past week! Promoted listing fees are credited back if you've closed the Unpaid Item Case against the buyer. However, it can take up to two weeks to process the credit. If you do not see them within two weeks please contact CS so they can review and manually credit you those fees. 🙂
When it comes to the blocked buyer and watch lists, this is a really good question. I had to do some digging! From the information I have, a blocked bidder is still able to watch your items, but they cannot actually purchase anything, and should not be receiving any of your Seller Initiated Offers.
Thanks!

Hi @nibuc-6763 - I'd love to help if you'd get me some more detail about what you're encountering. It seems like maybe a screenshot or error message didn't get attached to this post.
You're more than welcome to start a discussion on Seller Central and myself or one of the great folks here will try to help you out. 🙂
