Cheapest international shipping

I intend a very small package internationally from Canada, but I don't know which shipping option to choose.

Which is the cheapest option which can go overseas to anywhere in the world?

Cheapest international shipping

If the parcel is under 2 cm thick and 500 grams in weight, Light Packet / Letter Post is cheapest. It is also an Air Mail service.

Neither includes tracking/delivery confirmation or insurance.

LetterPost can be Registered, but it is unclear if eBay considers Registration as acceptably 'electronically visible' if a Claim is made.

Registration costs about $9.50.

But bookmark this page:

Use metric. Canada Post went metric in 1974 and all other measurements will be guesswork.

And NEVER send by Surface. The parcel will not arrive for months and your buyer will make a Claim and get his money back before it arrives.

If under 2cm thick and 500g, consider O/S lettermail or Light packet.

Also consider Small Packet (air) no thickness restriction, and up to 2kg in weight.

2016 International rates

O/S Lettermail (using stamps) versus Light Packet

000-030g ..  2.50
031-050g ..  3.60
051-100g ..  5.90
000-200g ..  8.78  Light Packet
101-200g .. 10.30
201-300g .. 13.46 Light Packet
201-500g .. 20.60
301-500g .. 24.57 Light Packet

Light packet beats O/S lettermail for 101-300g weights.

Small packet (air) varies by region, but for 301-500g usually beats light packet and can often beat light packet for 201-250g as well.

-.-
