Error message : The seller does not offer combined shipping discounts.

Hi there,

I'm a canadian seller that offer free shipping on some of my BIN and charge some shipping on some other of my BIN listings, but for which I accept to combine shipping at no additional shipping cost (its clearly stated in the targeted  listings).

Today, a customer (also located in Canada) told me he added some 20 items from my store to his cart, but when he clicked on "resquest total", he received an error message indicating "The seller does not offer combined shipping discounts". Is this a known issue, or do I have something to do on my side to insure the buyer can request total without getting an error message?

Thanks in advance,

Hi @mypaperstuff - great question! You do need to specify that you allow combined payments and shipping. You can do that from your shipping settings (quick link here). Thanks!

It is one of those misleading error messages.

Different types of shipping will not combine.

Combined shipping rules need to be enabled for each listing for it to work automatically. And the same rules need to apply for all the listings in the cart.

I believe you will also have a combining problem if some of the listings have immediate payment turned on.

Last time that happened for me I had the buyer tell me what he was trying to buy. I gave him a price which he okayed and then I created a custom listing just for him with those items and a shipping cost for all the items combined (when doing this don't forget to end the individual listings).

You need to go to 'Account Business Policies', and create or edit your 'Shipping' policy to include an 'Each additional' price.

Under 'Combined shipping discounts' you will also need to tick the box:

'Apply my flat shipping rule'.
