When looking at the cost of an item in eBay which is listed in US dollars it shows me the equivalent value in Canadian dollars. When I pay for it in PayPal it is different again. It appears that EBay uses a different rate of exchange than PayPal. Can you not show the same currency conversion rate that PayPal uses to give buyers and sellers a truer expectancy of the item costs?
Apples and oranges. Ebay is a nominal rate and PayPal is a cash rate. PP adds a conversion fee of 2.5 % to the wholesale rate quoted twice daily by their bank
Ebay canadian equivalent is a guide only. Add 4-5 % to what you view and will be close to actual at payment.
Not sure why but when eBay shows the exchange rate between Canadian and US dollars, something seems amiss. Example: right now our Canadaina dollar is worth more that the US dollar yet an item that costs US$9.99 shows CAN$10.37.
When you exchange currency you are charged a percentage fee. The paypal rate includes that fee but ebay shows just the exchange rate...not the extra fees.
If you're trying to direct this at eBay, no one from there will see it. This is a member to member help board.
