PLEASE HELP ASAP!!

I wanted to buy a phone (Samsung Galaxy s8) on eBay. I'm from Canada and i've tried both United States and Canadian sellers. When I put the item in my cart and go to checkout I click on PayPal. I login to my PayPal account then the login page closes and on the ebay checkout page it says this.

Sorry, this payment option isn't available. Here are your options:

  • Select a different payment option.
  • Contact PayPal customer service to resolve this issue.

How do I fix this? I have $900 in my PayPal balance which is enough for the phone including shipping and all of the other fees.

Have you contacted PayPal customer service to see if there are any purchase restrictions or problems with your PayPal account?

Sign into PayPal then select Help > Contact Us > Payments > Payments declined

Your choice of phoning or emailing paypal.

While this thread is almost a year old, there is a periodic error message now arising that says this which will quite often disappear if you try again later. For good measure, log out and clear your cache or browser history and restart your computer before making subsequent attempts.

But yes, early adopters (sellers) of the new ebay payment gateway are not eligible to collect funds via paypal anymore. That is also a possibility.

When this happened to me as a buyer, however, the error vanished with my next attempt.

Some sellers may have opted into the introductory eBay payments system and those sellers CANNOT accept PayPal.
