paypal and invoicing

First time selling. Have only used paypal for buying before, do I have to change my account at all to receive payment? I sent invoice through ebay a few days ago and haven't heard anything back from buyer (who has good feedback for fast payment).  I just sent them an e-mail today asking if there were any issues. Did I miss a step somewhere? I didn't do anything with my PP account at all, is that an issue? Should I be sending invoice through PP?
