You need a Canadian bank.
It must be checking account.
- Many sellers have chosen to use a Simplii or Tangerine account, which are no-fee and online.
- Simplii also gives you paper bank statements! (I am very old.)
You cannot have a Managed Payments account that is not attached to a bank account, because you are paid by MP transferring* your earnings to the account.
You will also be asked to provide acceptable identification.
- The micro-deposits don't seem to work.
- Passport and driving license do.
- You can be asked to provide your SIN, but you never have to provide it.
If you need specific help, both Chat and Facebook are staffed by actual employees, who know that Canada is not part of the USA, and who have some authority to follow up. Also you get a transcript, so you can confirm that what you were told is what you thought you were told.
