How do I delete my recently viewed item list from the homepage? There used to be a "clear viewed items" button on the left, but it is no longer there. Can someone please advise??

Hello 'triax3',
If there is a way to clear the slate from the ebay home page I can't find it. I don't know if anyone else around here might have a suggestion.
If you are getting other annoying ads and emails you can halt those buy going to the My eBay at the top of the page, finding the Account tab, choosing Site Preferences from the left and then Show All from the right, and Save. Do the same for Communication Preferences. That way you can rid yourself of unwanted solicitations, and also make sure you are not missing out on notices and any goodies that you do want.
But to undo the 'previously viewed', hmmm. The problem is that the ebay computer does not know the difference between a view of sincere purchasing interest, and clicking on something because it is so shockingly awful we simply can't believe anyone would list such a thing and so have to take a closer look.
What I do is log out of everything, close all my windows and browser, then go to my computer files (internet options) and delete the cookies/ cache/ temporary internet files. That clears the backlog, but then every time I am shopping again, the next batch of things I click on will show up as 'previously viewed'.
I also have several cute pictures in my Watch list, and I find if I click on those a few times the machine seems to equate frequency in clicking with likelihood of buying. Hence, those images appear foremost in my 'previously viewed' so that way I always have something nice to look at.
We have to try what we can. If you discover some way to truly clear the surface, please come back and share it.

I too am amazed at how intrusive this is. I occasionally read a daily foreign newspaper, and there right in the middle of the context, sit ebay items, I have looked at. Also on my facebook page. So, is this marketing, or something else? The www is a scary place, and I'm not sure most of us realize that. Personally, I'm not too concerned, that anyone knows what I look at on ebay, but it probably doesn't stop there. I think the lesson is, just be aware. Cheers.
