Acceptable Payment methods

Is anyone aware of the acceptable payment methods changing? Apple pay has been removed from dot ca/dot com.  Discover is now missing on dot com. (Not sure when these changes were rolled out.) Do they have to be routed through PayPal to work? Do the options change at checkout?

Specifics from ca help page:

The following payment methods, which are offered at eBay checkout, are allowed:

• PayPal
• Credit card 
• Apple Pay
• Google Pay
• Payment upon pickup
  • Payment upon pickup must offer one of the approved electronic payment methods. Listings may include the statement: "Contact me for payment methods to pay on pickup."

dot com help:

The following payment methods are offered at eBay checkout:

• PayPal
• PayPal Credit
• Credit card or debit card - Visa, MC, Discover, Amex
• Apple Pay
• Google Pay
• Spendable funds
• Payment upon pickup
• Wire transfer facilitated by eBay (select categories only)
• eBay gift card or eBay voucher or eBay Bucks

Hey @lotzofuniquegoodies ,

Your inital post is over a year old and all of a sudden it's active again. I'm hesitant to mark it "ZOMBIE".

Can you please chime in on this? eBay recently axed American Express and some of these others. If you don't mind just stick a big fat bad Zombie on this unless you think it's relevant to today.

It still has to do with when anyone does a search looking for info, the default is best match vs most recent. To my mind a bit baffling but see it all the time. In some cases the post(s) within are no longer relevant but not always the case. At times they can be issues or concerns that eBay has never resolved so in theory "not truly" a zombie thread. You could say potatos.....potattoes!! Entirely up to interpretation. I guess in a perfect world someone from eBay could pop on by to OFFICIALLY address vs just closing willy nilly so to speak.🤣

As a side the payment methods listed on dot com help will still be valid as of August 17, 2024 with 1 exception. American Express will no longer be accepted.

For ca same goes for American Express. Wire Transfers are not accepted on ca
