I have spoken to some sellers about the Global shipping program and I was surprised to find out that most of the sellers I talked to dont have a clue about it. Its almost like if it simply appeared. I was able to convince one seller to remove it so that I have a fair chance in placing my best bid.
What really has surprised me is that every time I want to respond to a seller about the program, I have to switch from my Ebay messaging over to my Out- Look Express because Ebay for some reason doesn't want me discussing the topic with the seller. I always get the same note as to why I cant respond.
"The question you are trying to answer is either invalid or older than 90 days. You cannot respond to questions older than 90 days."
The question is only hours old.

I get that when I switch IDs. (I have seven).
I just double check the ID the message was for and re-up with the correct ID.

It did "just appear". When they accepted the most recent User agreement, they got signed up for GSP. They did not opt in, there is a reverse opt out required.
In addition, many of those sellers have no desire to sell outside the US and eBay is tricking them into doing this. They are completely unaware they are selling international until someone asks for the GSP to be removed so they can bid or buy. This sends the seller into a full blown tizzy as they have no idea what is going on.
eBay messaging may be seeing the request about GSP as an attempt to move the deal to off eBay.
