BAM! Negative Feedback

Hi,

I just received a negative feedback + a few neutral. From a buyer who won multiple auctions. He claims condition of comics he bought is lower than advertised.

Looks like he received it, wasn't happy so left negative feedback. Felt happy again.

How should I deal with this?

I'm a small seller. Just selling my comics because I don't have room to keep them in my apartment.

I try to be very professional with everything, from grading, through answering questions, making additional photos, secure packaging, shipping, customer service. I thought I rated all my comics lower than their real condition. Other buyers seem to be pretty happy with what they get from me.

This buyer never contacted me. Never gave me a chance to make it right.

What should I do? Message him? Refund? If I refund I want my books back. I'm not sure what to do. Can I somehow get this negative feedback changed?

I suggest that you wait at least one week - then email him and very nicely explain that you are willing to see if there is anything you can do to make him happy. ie: offer to refund and pay for  the return postage. Also tell him if he is ok with that, will he consider removing the feeback voluntarily. You can do that by sending him a request to remove the feedback.

Or pehaps the two of you can figure something else out - perhaps a partial refund  - but give him time to cool down.

Put a paper in with the package saying if your not happy with the purchase , before leaving negative feedback to contact us and make it right.

I have had a few problems in the past , and by letting your customers know if there is a problem you are willing to fix it. Best way of doing this is physically showing that with the package.

This is the insert I enclose with every shipment for items sold through eBay:

One minute of your time, please.  It is important.

Great care is taken to provide all my customers with “five star” service for all aspects of every transaction.

Positive feedback is posted on eBay upon receipt of payment.  Buyers are quickly advised of shipping time (typically within 24 hours of confirmation). Stamps, booklets and souvenir sheets are packaged carefully then heat-sealed in plastic bag and affixed to sturdy backing for maximum protection while in transit.

If you agree the quality of service provided deserves a “five star” rating, please take a minute to post your positive feedback on eBay. Your feedback and “five star” rating on all aspects of this transaction are important to me.  Five star ratings eventually reflect lower eBay fees resulting in my ability to maintain lower prices for you.

If you feel “five star” rating is undeserved, please let me know so the next transaction will satisfy you.

Wait for a day and figure out if he left low dsrs too.  If he didn't then move on, as long as you stay above 98% (which you could take 2 more negs) there is no effect

If he left low dsrs you are lucky he left a neg as in ebay's bizarro world if he left a positive and low dsrs they couldnt be revised, but can be with a neg.  If he did leave low dsrs its worth it to try and get him to revise the fb as that could cause a significant problem

My experience in selling any comics is very TOUGH because of the so-called grading that I cannot use as I don't trust them as everyone has a different perspective of the grading and what it should be graded.  That goes the same with records.  It is not easy.

I had to take more than 1-5 photos for each comic to show its conditions and hope for the best.

"as everyone has a different perspective of the grading"

The same is true for postage stamps, coins, etc...  Yet, most eBay sellers and buyers usually end up happy! 🙂
