CPC Signature Confirmation $4.50 more through eBay?

Just curious why eBay is charging  $6.50 for Signature Confirmation - a Canada Post $2.00 flat rate fee?
And why they don't offer Do Not Safe Drop options for CA to CA delivery?

(Not looking for a cynical response, just pointing out that I happily paid $5 more to CPC using my Business Account because eBay tried to upcharge me $4.50 for a service while denying me better free options that result in a safer and more secure, as well as sometimes required, experience.)

$6.30 is the signature cost for UPS, with a second adult signature option in the drop down for more.

If you click/tap the little (i) it will say UPS in the info pop-up.

You would need to select Canada Post shipping servive above instead of UPS and it should show $2 instead.

If UPS is selected by default, did the buyer select UPS?

Well, i'll be damned. Just went through again and so it is; I must have missed pressing the radial button for CPC. Now, to sell something else and utilize the appropriate $2 signature option. Thanks!

(Still don' t know why they don't have the Complimentary Do Not Safe Drop option.)

About the Do Not Safe Drop.

I have a simple solution.

Not everything has to be done by computer.

If you're adding signature, do not safe drop is basically meaningless anyway. I really wouldn't worry about porch piracy with Canada Post. They have a whole bunch of options for buyers, including things like FlexDelivery. The buyer does have some responsibility to have a safe place to have things dropped off, and (at least in theory) eBay should have your back under seller protections as long as you have a delivery scan.

And for anyone who doesn't have....yet.....stay tuned for community mail boxes coming to your local delivery address soon. At this point I can't even remember something from CP that was home delivered. If it doesn't fit in a community mailbox compartment or needs a signature you will get a notice to pick up. Welcome to the new normal with CP.

As for Flex delivery you need to be set up with CP and requires having an account.

As for safe delivery misc couriers as per THEIR policy guidelines are supposed to safe drop. MOST don't. I have a big sign on my front door to ring door bell. That happens rarely. Even for restaurant deliveries.  I can have packages dropped off somewhere on my front step (in plain sight) at any time of day or night. Unless you check your door  regularly or are signed up for delivery alerts you will not know something has been dropped off. (Not sure but youtube may now have more videos of porch pirates vs silly cat videos. It not, its very close.)

That's actually something that I like about Intelcom which Amazon seems to be using in my area. You get an email within a few seconds of them dropping the package off (before their truck even pulls away).

Re: CPC Signature Confirmation $4.50 more through eBay?

This topic brings up something a fellow seller in my area does. We meet at the post office about once a month it seems, he sells small clock repair and clocks themsleves items. To every canadian buyer he sends them in over sized boxes too large to fit the super boxes at most cp locations he also for some reason prints on the box post office delevery only which he claims means it sits at the post office till someone pickes it up and signs for it that added cost for shipping which is usally 5 dollars max more most times, he claims this extra is covered by never in five years having a not delivery claim.  Or needing the extra cost of a signature request. Of Course, he is successful at this eBay business, selling all over the world, where he then asks for a signature on demand and pays for it, included in the cost of doing business. He says if only it were that easy is my thought most times when we meet . My items barely sell when they do sell covering the costs of selling, postage taking the majority of the cost of selling the item.
