Canada Post Possible Stike

What happens now that orders are in the mail with a possible expected delivery date of September 30 and early October, what happens if not received there is no way of knowing whether these items will be received after strike is over.  Will eBay delay delivery date?

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

Right now I am lost in unhappy thoughts....  or is it elsewhere

These rotations are starting to add up.......

Two days in Toronto, where Mississauga went along for the ride,  must have been a difficult situation in Toronto-Mississauga for Canada Post.

International mail flows through Mississauga to the US.

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

I just talked to a Canada Post employee as I was dropping off my package at the Post Office before 5pm (last pickup). He was saying that they might be picketing in Winnipeg over the weekend (Saturday/Sunday).

I believe from our conversation that the processing plant in Winnipeg will still be in operation on Saturday.

Yes, I'm starting to get dizzy,,,,,,,,,,

It's always a difficult situation when Mississauga wants to ride Toronto.

International mail flows through Mississauga to the US.

I just love it when the mail flows to the US. Don't you?

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

My store is on vacation...

My focus has been to find new inventory......

Many charity book sales.....one a week for five weeks... lots of new inventory to list.

Lots of new listings have been added to the store.

and then there are other non-eBay things to take care of....... A vacation has helped

My primary focus .... new inventory...  new listings.....  and lots of good sleep.

Canada Post is at the bottom of everything..... rolling around in the dirt and whatever  else gets deposited on the ground.    This Canada Post situation is one big mess.

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

I just checked CUPW website and it says ÎIes-de-la-Madeleine (QC) and Niagara Falls (ON) are on strike at the moment. I know that Vancouver was on strike on Friday, so does it mean it’s okay for me (I’m in Vancouver) to mail my small packet air parcel to Japan tomorrow?

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

Now, I’m 98 per cent certain of the answer to my question but I’m going to pose it anyway:

Postal Dealers (like the ones in grocery stores or pharmacies) are as we all know employees of the business housing them and operating asauthorized dealers of Canada Post as opposed to CUPW members, so the dealers/postal counters remain open to accept and induct parcels, correct?

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

Thank you, I brought in four USA-bound parcels over the weekend and I’ll have at least two paid in time to ship domestic tomorrow. I just want to triple-check I can meet handling times even if the mail isn’t moving yet from Winnipeg.

What a list!

Does this long list put more pressure on Canada Post?

No.

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) shutdown last Tuesday/Wednesday had more impact.

Re: Canada Post Possible Stike

The pressure is up on both sides.

The longer it continues, the more people and companies will find other permanent ways to send stuff.....

I hope both sides realize that....

Hmm perhaps I was wearing my optimism glasses when I read this, because I interpreted it that all items were covered, assuming it was based on the time they were sold or more likely marked as shipped.

Now I'm wondering too ....hopefully tyler@ebay can clarify this for certain....

Just want to loop back to update folks on strike protections. I've update the Weekly Chat on this topic here, but the long and short of it is that @ricarmic's optimism glasses are well adjusted. 😉

We will be issuing protections for members regardless of whether or not an item is sent with tracking. Thanks!
