Canada Post Prepaid Envelopes/Boxes - Refundable?

Does anyone know if prepaid items are Returnable for a refund with receipt? I bought the wrong size Xpresspost envelope and need to return it (I doubt it'll ever get used). I can't seem to find any definitive return policies for retail products online. Thanks!

Yup you can return them. Not a problem as long as you have the receipt and you didn't already fill out the address label.

Oddly there was a woman in the PO this morning whose USA ExpressPost was refused.

Apparently they go out of date.

I suppose she had no idea how much it cost, because someone paid $10-$20 for it.

FWIW , The Dominion of Canada has never demonetized any stamps, and was persuaded to that wiley Newfie Joey Smallwood, to accept the stamps of Newfoundland at par as a part of joining Confederation.  Smooth move on Joey's part, since the Colony was bankrupt at the time.

So you can go ahead and  use that mint QV $3.00 Jubilee to mail a heavy Letter Post to your granny. 😈

Re: Expired Xpresspost Envelop

Was there any sort of verification for this policy by the clerk.? It's similar to the past kerfuffle over gift cards/certificates automagically expiring and then the surprised looks by the folks trying to use em.

PS. I've heard of situations where the user could just pay any difference because of a price increase.

DH was waiting in the car and I didn't stick around. I'll ask next time I'm in if I remember.

If it was a pre-paid XpressPost USA envelope, those were discontinued about a year and a half ago (mid 2020) along with the pre-paid XpressPost International envelope. The reasoning being that international regulations were mandating electronic customs information for all international parcel services (which those envelopes fell into), and those envelopes were designed to be purchased in advance and deposited without intervention from Canada Post, thus disallowing anyone to enter the customs details electronically at the time of mailing.

Canada Post had provided a fairly significant advance notice of this discontinuation with the last date to use those envelopes being Dec. 31, 2020. But I suppose if you're just a regular consumer who had one in a drawer at home you'd never know they were discontinued.

There was a advertisement once from Apfelbaum Stamps (?) claiming that stamp gum was the most valuable product in the world, for the difference it made in the price of a stamp. 😁
