Has anyone made a chart for the new mailing rates. Also on what date do the new rates start?

Here is a topic I started 3 weeks ago on the new rates.

The rates go into effect Monday, January 16, 2017.

I do not recall if a specific post was made with a chart on the new rates.

I still cannot find 2017 Light Packet prices anywhere. Each year finding out the Light Packet new rates is difficult to find.

I did find this link to a third party site Etsy showing large increase to Light Packet for lower weights.

Now the above is sample package weight rate table. One can only speculate from this page what the new rates are.

If you look at Light Packet USA 0.1 kg shows $5.70 going to $6.84. A 100 gram parcel would be in the current 0 to 200g class of Light Packet USA.

The same chart shows Light Packet USA 0.5 kg staying the same at $11.75.

So I wonder if the weight breaks in Light Packet have changed. Currently 0-200, 201-300, 301-500 grams. Maybe they changed to just 2 classes, 0-250, 251-500 g and raised the rate for the lower class a lot. Light Packet has changed weight classes in the recent past.

In the same link above, Light Packet International stayed the same at 0.5 kg but increase a lot for the 0.1 kg example.

Why does Canad Post make it so difficult to find out Light Packet rates?

I have used it all year and I am hoping she will be able to do

Hi, ok I see that but it only shows lettermail rates and not parcel rates? Unless I'm looking in the wrong spot ~ when I click on something that says parcels I get a big blue wheel but the rate guide still shows 2016 ....

The Calculated Shipping tool makes annual rate increases less worrisome.

The equivalent of Light Packet is oversize lettermail.

The stamped rates remain unchanged (same since April 2014)

This is really good. Very handy & easy, a great reference. Too bad it can't be pinned to the top somewhere, permanently, then updated as need be.

im just wondering how the new rates will make us more competitive ? Waiting to see is it true that the canadian dollar will go to $0.65.Did im the only one that get the picture wrong ?

I guess we get the shaft again for light packet, a whole lot more than 3% or 4% as seems ro be the norm every year.

Getting a little sickening. I guess CP gets to gouge when there us no competition that is reasonable!

Maybe Canada Post heard us bemoaning the lack of a small packet-type service for domestic items and has instead decided to make it appear less attractive we so that we don't miss it.

That is called "other" letter post which is not an issue in Canada

I'm still not clear about light packet rates. For the U.S, would it not fall under the oversize lettermail which indicates $5.36 plus GST for over 100 g to 200 g (which is what I primarily use), but then that's less than the current rate which totals $5.70. What???
