I want to change my store url to a name I've been satisfied with for a long time, but it's not like the old days where you can change your URL when you need to.
I've looked up old threads on this problem. There are still some questions I have.
Ebay keeps my store on file for 30 days in case I change my mind, but do I have to wait 30 days before opening a new store?
My url is not the name I want to keep, but the store name is. During the 30 days, will I be unable to use the store name?

Your bigger problem might be the charge for cancelling your existing one and opening a new store (unless you're on a month-to-month). I have no idea about the store name. Could you choose an abbreviated version or something (shorter URLs are probably better anyway from a marketing perspective) and then change the store name to the old one after 30 days?

I changed my store name years ago. Probably close to 10 years. When it was done and I was walked through the process I was told I would have to delete another name and wait 30 days for re-using. When I did my url never did get updated. In speaking to CS recently I got a long song and dance but no solution for an easy way to fix. Something to do with anyone that happened to be currently watching ANY of my items or have me favourited would lose that view in their settings on eBay.
There needs to be an easier solution than all the current hoops a user has to jump through. If it is on eBay's radar to fix it is a VERY low priority.
For context:
https://www.ebay.ca/str/cmenterprizes1
Lack of solutions for the above issue are very similar to a user having a dot com store and wanting to make it a dot ca store with consequence of losing years of built up feedback or vice versa.

As a side in my situation when I was assisted in updating store name the associated URL should have been corrected at that time during the process. So would seem to appear to be at eBay's end. Not at mine.
