I just phoned Canada Post. Now I am not sure about the knowledge of the rep, he at first insisted that letter mail was only up to 50g. I went over all the specs. for the one returned, he thought it must be a problem with my post office. I told him that I mail with stamps in the mail box. He told me to got to a corporate CP office and ask them, so I am going to get my husband to go and I'll write out the details. I am getting over appendix surgery, so I don't feel up to going myself. I have had to put my store on vacation again, I can't risk paying up to $8 for items over 100g if someone purchases them. I did tell him exactly what I was mailing and he thought it was alright, but as I said, I think he was a "remote" rep!

What is the problem that you keep running into?

Chit Chats processes any returns, and you pick them up at a Chit Chats branch. You have to file paperwork prior to Chit Chats being able to process your returns.
Chit Chats charges you for return shipping. With this in mind, if you are sending items out that are cheap enough that the few dollars difference between lettermail and Small Packet Air are killing your margins, it might not make sense to take returns. It might make more sense to let the items be abandoned and eat the loss. For what it is worth, I have never had a single return to sender with Chit Chats out of hundreds of orders. Keep in mind, I send parcel, not lettermail.
The above is for items that are unable to be delivered. If an item is delivered, and a customer wants to open a return on eBay, you would have to buy a return shipping label with Shippo or another similar service. Chit Chats doesn't have a function to handle your returns that way. You cannot send a return to Chit Chats US branch. You have to have the return sent to your regular Canadian address. Chit Chats only processes returns that are undeliverable.

I would tend to disagree as to the incompetence of Canada Post...
Like any company there is always some incompetence. However, I do know of several local long time Canada Post outlet employees, who are most knowlegeable and most helpful.
I would be more inclined to say that eBay "has the absolute worst Service I have ever seen."

I stopped mailing to the US just before this. Just to test the waters I did send a cd in a paper sleeve nonetheless it came right back. They must be using xray equipment? Next itll be within Canada shipping I can see it coming.
You put the CD in a paper sleeve, and then what did you put it in for mailing? A bubble mailer? A stay-flat mailer? A regular paper envelope (if so, what size)?
