Open post for known issues regarding eIS Canada. Add as you come across them.
1. Default shipping method domestic letter being used vs USA Tracked or Expedited. (I am guessing some cases you could ship Expedited lite to hub vs letter to get tracked but not always. It would mean determining which ones would qualify and blocking letter if it is an eIS order). Once buyer pays you are basically hooped unless there was add on reason allowed for cancelling that was more appropriate.)

Thanks, what was the breakdown of the $50.18?

It shows in the picture. $10.19 for the domestic shipping and $39.99 for the item price. FWIW, the buyer paid $28.41 shipping (so the eIS portion was $18.22 and my portion was $10.19) and $3.43 tax. It seems like we aren't charged fees on the foreign tax either, which is nice.

Issue with the welcome messages
The message I got today after enrolling yesterday (from an opt out status) are from .COM instead of .CA
A little confusing as it mentions shipping to the US hub instead. Links to .COM information and forums instead, and subject is that I was 'automatically enrolled' when I clicked the enroll button to enroll.

Question for stamp on parcel folks. Does Zonos now replace the online Canada Post customs form for US shipments? Seems like it should.

Do you have calculated shipping? Is that how you got $10.19 from the sale?
10-26-2025 09:21 PM
No.
You still need to make the Canada Post custom QR code with the address and customs info. They are two separate things.
Some post offices don't care and will do it manually, or do it manually even when you have the QR because they cannot figure out how to scan it, or they scan it and don't like how the address came out. Very YMMV. But you do technically need it.

Ah, to bad. I have used them from time to time and the online customs form is a pretty outdated PITA with no COO or HS code boxes. I fill them out and print them for the posties, the amount of clicking they have to do even with the customs inputted already is fearsome enough!

No, I use rate tables (by weight), so it's a base cost plus an amount per kilogram.

I am having the same issue with the postal code not being accepted at Stallion Express and Sendle.
Don't know what to do. How are you folks dealing with the issue?
Stallion and Sendle won't accept L5J 0B8 so I can't even buy the label.

I just sent a technical inquiry to Stallion Express and notified them of the problem with the postal codes. If anyone has a workaround, aka solution, please let me know.

And this is exactly why eBay does slow roll outs.
Imagine if everyone had been activated all at once.

If the postal code issue isn't resolved for those that aren't buying Ebay labels at this point in time, can I send my package by regular Canada Post untracked? Because, as mentioned, Stallion and Sendle (plus other couriers most likely) aren't going to recognize the postal code Ebay wants us to use. Or does it have to be tracked - even by Canada Post - to go to this Ebay Hub location?

Theory reagrding the eIS postal code issue - the code assigned by eBay gives deeply discounted rate that only CP recognizes. I shipped two packages this morning. One for eIS in a 9x6x6 box at 650g. Rate was 9.xx$. Second to Toronto domestic, 9x6x6 at 410g. Rate was 12.62$. Both shipping from Montreal.
Interesting. I tried going on the Canada Post website's rate calculator to do some experimenting in that vein just to see if the rate differences showed up there as well and I kept getting error messages. Perhaps the glitches we've been seeing on eBay aren't all eBay's fault.
By the way, I think the postal code for the hub was assigned by Canada Post, not eBay. 😉

It's been discussed on another thread that a trackable shipping method isn't necessary for getting the item to the hub, but it comes with the usual caveats about the lack of "protections," etc. that would be the same for a regular untracked shipment. Do note @cottagewoman's post a few messages back about the possibility of it being less expensive to send items to that postal code, though, presumably through eBay Labels.
For what it's worth, I don't think it's eBay that "wants" items sent to that postal code so much as it's Canada Post or Sincro. This postal code is in the Canada Post database, but it's likely a very recent addition.

It's posted "somewhere" on the dot com page for eIS that a tracked service is required for shipping to the hub. Unsure why it would be different for eIS Canada. See attachment
On the ca page it does state the following:
To protect yourself against "Item not received" claims filed through eBay Money Back Guarantee, you need to use a shipping carrier that is integrated with eBay.
The following carriers are integrated with eBay:
Carrier name | Services |
Canada Post (CPC) ) | Trackable Services |
UPS | Trackable Services |
CanPar | Trackable Services |
Purolator | Trackable Services |
FedEx | Trackable Services |
This may be why Canadian sellers using outside methods are having conflicts. When compared to the US approved list it is much longer in comparison to the Canadian version.

ShipSavvy is allowing me to buy a label with the new postal code - L5J 0B8.
I am still waiting for Stallion Express to get back to me.

Stallion and Sendle won't accept L5J 0B8 so I can't even buy the label.
The first two I sent in were UPS via Click Ship and they did allow me to purchase the label. I noticed in the tracking that UPS updated the address though. I'm hoping I don't get an address correction fee on those. The one I sent out today I just used Canada Post via eBay Labels to play it safe.
I'd suggest sending a message in to the eIS team (eis@ebay.ca) and let them know. The more people that do that, the quicker it's likely to get fixed.

Zonos has that info. The Canada Post one seems to be more to streamline the process in person so that the CSR at the counter can scan a barcode rather than spend 5 minutes per package entering data.
If you're paying in person (stamps, cash, credit, etc) you need Zonos and the Canada Post form.
If you print online, you just need the Zonos since you enter the CN22 info into snapship.
You also can still throw pre-printed labels directly into the mailbox. The Zonos info is built into the label. You only need the Zonos barcode if you're buying the label in store.

I think you're thinking of what's posted here, @lotzofuniquegoodies:
When shipping your item to the domestic shipping hub, always add tracking details and include the reference number on the label to ensure it arrives safely.
But that doesn't mean that you must use a trackable shipping method for US eIS, just that if you have tracking details, they need to be added to the shipment information.
It's the eIS seller terms and conditions that matter, as far as I can see, and the "program rules" in that online document no longer (if they ever did) specify that sellers must use a trackable shipping method (or a shipping method with delivery confirmation) to get items to the hub.
Anyway, for eIS Canada, confirmation that tracking is not a requirement for items sent to the hub can be found on this thread:
