Is this new? I just came across this recently, on 2 items. Now we have a problem if eBay makes the buyer click on a link to see the description....
Oh... one good thing though that I noticed... "Contact seller" is back at the upper right under the seller ID. Took me a while to figure it out though... more changes for the sake of change. When we are accustomed to something, they change it back.

This is what happens with descriptions which still have HTTP in them..... see the other threads about HTTPS announcements....there has been a lot of furor over this over the last few months....it has just been enacted yesterday I believe, but we received warnings this was coming months ago....

Were you able to see this view (with no description) on your own listed items? I was thinking that if so, it would be an easy way for me to cross-check my listings to be sure all http issues had been corrected.

I have another problem with the HTTP. I always check using I-Way Tool after I list to see if it is alright & I find some Auctions are fine one day and the next day it is not even though there has been nothing changed on the Auction. I list with Inkfrog which is supposed to be compliant with all the changes with the HTTP.
There was an update with Chrome yesterday and I don't know if that is the problem or not.
The listings are all complete and there is no hiding the description

Do you have any older listings that you are still renewing?
inkFrog not that long ago was not compliant, just like Auctiva and Turbo Lister
They supposedly fixed the issues over the summer.
I am going through all my listings to remove all the old and newer junk using TL. I have a few 100 to go out of about 1300.

They are all New items only listed 3 days ago. I have 2 Cards on sale and both were fine yesterday and today only 1 is.. I checked with Inkfrog and they are all up to date. I think the update for Chrome yesterday might have screwed up but who knows. I'll check tomorrow and see how it is.

Do you mean the 'soldier death card'?
I see on my desktop a long strip of blue with pastel stripes, before we get to the payments section.
You might want to take a look at your listings on a smartphone, especially if your customers are a group that might tend to buy on phones.
I'm not sure having pictures in the description is worthwhile anymore, since we get up to 12 gallery photos. Are they free in your category?
And you have enough experience to know, but I'm not sure I would tell customers in my description (or title) that I cannot track or insure shipments. I know I do it on the boards, but ...
Also Cookie Jar Insurance?

They are both fine. You can check your listings with Shipscripts tool here. The Iway things is probably just buggered up. You may want to revise your listings on inkrog and assign a template to them. I would get rid of images in the descriptions and tidy up all the dead space and broken formatting in your item description.

You may want to do some checking on the link below:
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Replacing-Active-Content/bd-p/activecontent
If you still have issues, you may want to contact shipscript direct on the US boards as he has tools that may help you.
They are not all easy but support is very good and a sandbox tool is available to read the descriptions in detail and pick up all kinds of stuff including hidden.

Thank you all for the Help and suggestions, when I check with Shipscripts every thing is fine, I'm going to stop with the colour templates soon and with the flip flopping using I Ways I think there may be a problem with the program as it changes so much. I have not had a INR in 2/3 years so I don't worry to much on putting no tracking or insurance in the write up as it has never been a problem for me as I have allot of loyal customers through the years and I'll check out the Gallery Photos also. Since I closed the Store out most of my problems went with it.
Again Thanks for the Help and suggestions

No, not on my listings. But if this is a http problem, I would not see it as I do not have exterior links or images in my descriptions.

How do we add HTTPS?
10-30-2017 06:28 PM
Well... I had quite a surprise today when I looked at my listings on eBay.com.... the description is hidden, even though I don't have links or images in my descriptions. I only see the button "See complete description". Does someone know why? It doesn't make any sense...

I checked some on my PC and they show up just fine, full description.

I was curious to know what DÉCOUPURES meant so I googled it and all I could find was "indentation". I'm sure that's not what you intended, so could you please enlighten me ....... thanks. Just curious!

It means clippings ("découpures" is French).
10-31-2017 07:04 AM
I'm also on a PC, but it doesn't show. I use Firefox. Even then, this should not be a problem... is it because my store categories have links in them that they don't show up too? It shows up fine on .ca but not on .com

Why would your store categories have links in them? If I were you I would remove all the links.
Have you looked at your descriptions in HTML view for anything strange. Your descriptions are very long which may not be necessary and having it in English and French takes more space and is probably not required unless you list on .ca French.
The simpler you keep it today, the best chance of not having any issues.
If you look at my descriptions, I removed everything not required and cleaned all the HTML up from Auctiva, inkFrog, and Turbo Lister as all of them put stuff in descriptions that caused issues.
Have you tried scanning with the shipscript tool., the iways tool seems to be problematic.

Thanks. I knew it was French ... Manitoba has a large French population and I even speak a little, but I didn't know that word. Unfortunately the online dictionaries do not translate it properly. I kept finding "indentation".
