Is eBay losing it?

Have they lost their collective mind in San Jose?

Just received a special offer in "my messages" and by email:

eBay wants me to open a store and gives me all types of discounts for a free trial!

Don't they know I already have an eBay store?

That's exactly what happened to me.  Last month's invoice (for April) had no subscription fee shown, which I thought was very odd, but I reasoned that perhaps it was because of where the renewal date fell (May 1st).  Yet, sure enough, they seem to have picked up the missed subscription fee on the May invoice, i.e. double what it normally is.

It certainly would have been helpful of eBay to have posted a note on our invoices (or somewhere, anywhere!) to let us know if this was an error in April that's now being corrected, or what it was.  As usual, we're left to puzzle these things out on our own.

As for general glitches, weird emails, odd things happening in search results, etc. etc. etc. recently, I did wonder whether the recent cyber attack on eBay may have had other consequences that weren't immediately apparent.  Maybe that's the reason the eBay.ca staff have cancelled 3 Wed. discussion sessions over the past few weeks.  They must be very busy...

My June statement is in progress so can't check it.

My May invoice shows store charges from May 1 to May 15 for 1/2 month and then from May 15 to June 15th for whole month. Have they changed the billing cycle for stores?

I also show a refund of the 1/2 month store payment under credits so not sure what is going on.

Everyone should check their May and June statements to see what is happening with their billing because as usual, I am lost with what Ebay does and why.

Here goes a possibility:

Annual store subscription on May 1 and billing cycle is on the 15th

They charge 6 weeks when anuual ends, and then credit back 2 weeks so they can be back on the 15th billing cycle for the new annual term.

If they would make the annual fall on the same day as the billing cycle it would make more sense but then it would not coincide with the monthly free listings

Ebay needs to have everything fall on the same date, store cycles, billing cycles, annual cycles, etc or better yet, calendar months for everything instead of some stuff on 15th, some stuff monthly, some stuff on ist, and some stuff every 30 days. Use calendar months and it would be a whole lot easier for every one.
