Listing Promotion

Keep your eyes open for a listing promotion. Something I haven't seen in ages. May or may not be available for ALL sellers. Posting only as a notice to be on look out for. Details below. Activation will be required.

New year, new saving, more cash.

Enjoy 50% off final value fees on electronics, fashion, trading cards, collectibles and more.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Discount applies to final value fees for qualifying sales. Insertion fees and optional listing upgrade fees may apply.

What is the Promotion?

Sellers (“Sellers) who activate the offer and then list during the Promotion Period, pursuant to the terms and

conditions set forth herein, and list a Qualifying item, will receive a 50% discount on final value fees (“Promotional Rate”) for up to twenty (20) listings that are (i) listed during the Promotion Period (the “Promotion”) and (ii) sold before the listing is automatically renewed for Fixed Price and Buy It Now listings or during the first listing period for auction-style listings.

The following categories are excluded from the Promotion: Business & Industrial, Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, eBay Motors, and Real Estate categories.

Discounted final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale including the cost of the item and shipping, sales tax, and other applicable fees. The discount does not apply to any per order fee charged. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Final Value Fee Promotion. View everyday rate plan for full details.

Who is eligible?

The Promotion is available to sellers who: (i) received an email and/or message in My eBay; (ii) activated the promotion from the invitation email or on the Promotion landing page; and (iii) meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards. Please sign in to My eBay and view your Seller Dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standards.

This promotion does not apply to items that sellers have listed on non-Canadian websites (e.g. ebay.com, ebay.co.uk, etc.). However, the promotion will apply if eligible Canadian listings appear on non-Canadian ebay sites, for example when sellers select the option to ship globally.

When is it?

This Promotion will begin on February 3, 2023 at 01:00:00 ET and will end on February 9, 2023, at 23:59:59 ET for listings on www.ebay.ca, www.cafr.ebay.ca (the “Promotion Period”).

How do I activate the Promotion?

Sellers will be automatically eligible after they activate the Promotion from the invitation email, the Promotion landing page, or from the Promotional Offers module within My eBay. Sellers must create listings on the Canadian eBay sites at www.ebay.ca, www.cafr.ebay.ca through the Sell Your Item form, Seller Hub, eBay Seller Tools, eBay Mobile applications, and most third-party tools. Please note that the discount may not be shown during the listing process. Instead, the discount will be reflected in the "Seller Account” section in My eBay or Seller Hub, under the Account tab, as well as in your next invoice.

Restrictions & Exclusions
  • This Promotion is only valid for listings on the Canadian eBay site at www.ebay.ca, www.cafr.ebay.ca or with an eBay Mobile application in Canada.
  • Only registered eBay members with an address located in Canada can receive the promotion.
  • The Promotion excludes listings created after -- or scheduled to start after -- The Promotion Period.
  • Listings that do not sell before the end of The Promotion Period will not qualify for The Promotion.
  • Items that are automatically relisted through the Automatic relist function do not qualify for the Promotion and will be charged.
  • Auction-style listings created during the Promotion Period must sell within the first listing period to be eligible for the Promotion; Fixed Price and Buy It Now listings must sell within 30 days.
  • All listings must comply with all applicable eBay policies, including eBay’s Duplicate Listing policy that allows for the removal of duplicate fixed price listings.
  • Fees for optional features (such as reserve price, subtitle, Gallery Plus, listing in two categories, etc.) may still apply. Additionally, order and international fees may apply. Please note: Not all features are available in all listing flows.
  • This offer may not be combined with any other eBay selling promotions.

Promotion is subject to Canadian laws, void where prohibited, not redeemable for cash, has no face value, and cannot be combined with any other final value fee offer. eBay may cancel, amend, or revoke the Promotion at any time, including in response to fraudulent activity.

Re: Listing Promotion

Your update prompted me to check mine, I see we now have to go to "expired promotional offers" to see the results, but I too have acquired 2 more after February 9th, I'm up to 3 used/17 left.

So Sometime up until about March 9th more of these might show up, as the bulk of my listed material is  BINS

Would be nice to get a few more in it!!!

Re: Listing Promotion

in previous years when this type of promo was offered, the listings needed to be new listings generated during the promo period of the dates specified and had to sell within the time frame of that first listing duration to qualify for that specific discount. It would apppear that is the same process that is being applied here.

@ricarmic

After reading your message I checked my offers. I originally activated that offer. Now when I look that offer is nowhere to be found.

Historically speaking, if an offer is nowhere to be found did it really ever happen? Welcome to philosophical Sunday

Re: Listing Promotion

Mine shows up under "view expired offers" link in the bottom right corner of the "promotional offers" box on myebay.

It is possible that it only sticks around if you had at least one a@ Feb 9th, it might still show up again if something that qualifies shows up yet?

Could be, I saw the View Expired Offers after you mentioned in, could barely see the super, super fine print on the bottom and when I click on mine it shows me Used/Left  12/20 - and I can click on the 12 and it shows me the item numbers.

Has anyone had an item sell that was posted during the promotion period but sold after the 9th?  Just wondering if they got the promotion discount on the FVF.

The promo is worded that you would not, but it would be interesting to know if that is the case or it is poor wording.

Re: Listing Promotion

Hi, yes I had a couple of auctions that I listed during the promotion period and they ended yesterday (11th, promo ended the 9th) and I did get the 50% discount on them!

Re: Listing Promotion

Super, great to hear.  That is the usual way the promos work.  The wording on the last one was just awful then.

To bad it was not clear, I would have run some auctions that ended after the 9th.

Re: Listing Promotion

Extra woo hoo, hit 20 used 0 left last night!!!!

Many many thanks again @flipistics for posting the link, I NEVER got any notification from eBay regarding this promotion.

This is a great example of how checking in on the boards from time to time can pay off, I only got this promotion because of participating here!

Re: Listing Promotion

I just sold an item that I listed under this program.  I asked for confirmation that the final value fees had been calculated at a discount.

eBay Customer Service told me on the phone, just now, that this promo was a third party scam!

I had even sent them a screenshot of the promo that I had clicked 'activate' when I chatted with a rep online a week ago asking for confirmation that it was activated.  I was told at that time that they couldn't verify it (couldn't find the promo) but that most likely the discount would be automatically deducted if/when the item sold.

This is outrageous.

Now who is the scammer!

Re: Listing Promotion

customer service reps rarely have the knowledge,know-how or correct information and are wrong more often than right....I never talk to reps on the phone & I'd never believe and/or accept anything they say as being the correct information. Reps are "Reps" in name only, not in knowledge...

Normally expired promotions display at the bottom of the list. In this situation it shows up first when you click on that option.

During the promotion I created the 6 noted that qualified. 3 units sold. (2 of the listings had multiple units available). Feb 15, 19 and 26th. So these sales were definitely after the fact. As per always the verbiage eBay chooses tends to be a little "up to interpretation" by EVERYONE. eBay staff included. Hoping to someday locate a listing for eBay speak. If it was available it would sell very quickly.

Re: Listing Promotion

After seeing these community posts I had to try again to find out want was going on.

Seems that the US eBay can't see what eBay.ca is doing for promos.

I am waiting to hear back from eBay.ca.

I am going to complain that these promos should be sent through eBay messages and not just regular email.

If they're going to have terms that require a lawyer to understand we should be able to view a copy of them on the website.

I probably will lose my discount because the item was automatically relisted and didn't include a 'Buy it Now option that would have covered me for 30 days instead of 7.

I could have very easily added a 'Buy it Now' if this had been clear to me.
