😞
"the requirement for Top Rated sellers to have tracking uploaded on at least 90% of transactions"
Knew this was coming. I sell in the hockey card category. I have tracking on about 0.1% of my sales - so, I will never be a Top Seller again. Boo hoo!

So sad 🙂
Has the NHL lockout affected your sales?
I live for hockey, but this year my interest is waning.
Go Jets, someday..

Sales are down because of the NHL lockout/strike.
Both sides have too much money for their own good.
Never understood why hockey players who have agents and individually negotiated contracts can have a union.
Does anyone think that this situation is going to affect the take home pay of Sidney Crosby or Alex Ovechkin or Steven Stamkos?
Yet, they are front and center whenever you see players coming out of a meeting.
The only guys who need a union are the new players who get entry level contracts. They should be the only ones negotiating.

Canadian sellers do not have to have the 90 % tracking....
Because of our Canada Post and the very high cost of shipping with tracking....

Feb 28 announcement:
Because we recognize that shipping services with tracking are considerably more
expensive when shipping from inside Canada, Canadian sellers do not need to
meet this 90% tracking upload requirement in order to qualify for the US

As far as I am concerned, "screw eBay". We shouldn't have to "grovel" to eBay for their too many insane policies and expectations of us as sellers. I am here to sell my items to get rid of them and why should we allow eBay to control us or tell us how to run our businesses???!!!
It is bad enough that eBay charges us the hefty insertions, and on top of it with the final value fees on the shipping costs that are expensive in Canada to start with and also putting us in lower search capability with the fixed priced format and some with auction-style format that eBay deem to decide which of us to put in higher search capability, etc, etc!!
What eBay is losing their sight is that we as sellers are the ONES that generate millions and millions of $$$$$ to eBay in the first place. Without us as sellers, eBay is out on street with no job and no $$$$$. Yet eBay continue to treat us shabbily all the time.
Right now eBay is a "Scrooge" not offering us the free listings promos like they did last year and there is nothing since June for the store sellers. eBay as a Scrooge is worst the real one!! Come on, eBay be a Santa Claus and offer us the free listing promos with auction-style format so we can list our items for the Christmas time.
To eBay: Be a Santa Claus not a Scrooge!!

Canadian sellers can be a TRS within Canada without that 90 % tracking requirement.
We have the TRS badge on eBay.ca but not on eBay.com
We still get a boost in search on .com, but not as good as a US seller with TRS and a TRS badge...

That was the original plan, based on representatiions by eBay.ca management. However, eBay.com decided otherwise on the basis it would be unfair to the majority of sellers (Americans) if Canadians were getting special provileges.
So we are back where we started. Most Canadian sellers can easily maintain their TRS on eBay.ca but not on eBay.com
We keep the discount but lose substantial exposure on eBay.com. 😞
And life does go on.....

Lost our top rated status today. I have been wacked with BS the last 3 months.
Exposure on .com has been softer the past 3 weeks. it appears Ebay doesn't much care about even their top sellers either.
I got a neg for a 20.00 item from quebec that didn't understand what they were purchasing and wanted a full refund . They of course wouldn't return the item. We reported this to Ebay twice and we have not received any communication from them.
ebay is a good marketplace you have to hand it to them but only until you could use their assistance when you need them, that find out what kind of a venue they really are:|

What type of venue is eBay?
It's a dictatorship.
I lost my top rated seller seal.
I closed my store and with the economy being what it is, only selling 5% of my items, (if I'm lucky) one loose ground.
The thing is, I have a proven track record of delivering the goods promised. That should be enough to be one of the top rated sellers. Not how much you sell but how well you conduct business.
I suspect it's like a carrot that they wave in front of the sellers to keep us throwing out more listings.
Sorry, 50 free a month, with a low return, is not insentive enough for me to list past the 50.
At least I found them on facebook and got a chance to scream all over them. "I earned that seal, I want it back."

I didn't know that they had reversed that on us Pierre. How nice of them to let us know. I can just see how many sales I would make if my Light Packet items were shipped with tracking and the additional cost that would go along with it.

Diane you have 7 Feedback in the last 30 days maybe you lost it because you don't have enough sales..
I lost my Top rated status once and got it back the next month and have held on now for a year by offering free shipping Auto 5 star and shipping at the latest 2 business days 90% of the time Within hrs of sales..
I think how they rate Toprated sellers is some what Stupid I think the amount you sell in a month should be more instead they made it less..
this Tracking thing is Stupid too nobody US or Canada should have this dictating if you a good seller or not ..
I think it is only a matter of time "Years" before someone take a good chunk of ebay's business..
I mean now they are trying to get all Brand Department stores on ebay which is kinda cool but Nothing special at all I would much rather just go to there site then find them on here ..
anyways yada yada goodnight to all

Lost mine on the 20th on 1 id as a very low fber left "its great" fb with ALL 1s except the auto 5 free shipping for an end of oct sale. Perfect condition, shipped same day, free shipping personal message it shipped, arrived in normal time, no message from buyer...but all 1s.
People on ps board have said they've got them removed in situations like that so called. Overseas rep says its a positive so its good. I say dsrs will lose me TRS...rep has no idea and leaves to ask someone about that . Then they say they can get me the buyers contact info so I can call them and discuss it?!
So I call the next day to try someone else. They tell me I should get the buyer to revise it (of course a pos cant be). Also want to help me get the buyers contact info. Completely useless. PS board people have said they've reached better csrs in the USA, which doesn't seem possible for me.
TRS will be back next month as a slow shipping to Portugal just fell off. But Im stuck with all 1s for a year, first time I ever got a low dsr for item or communication. Stopped selling on that id for the rest of the month so ebay will get as little extra as possible. j
Just ridiculous. Other ids have zero low dsrs in last year, one now showing all 5.0s. Bad luck 3 nut jobs all hit one id in a year and i have to pay for it

but lose substantial exposure on eBay.com
Horse hockey! The much vaunted "extra exposure" is smoke and mirrors and not worth anything really.
The discount is the only reason to go for TRS status.

If you use Paypal shipping for light packet labels you can enter the invoice number on the label as a "tracking" number so that you can reach the 90% tracking requirement.. Ebay has approved it.

"I didn't know that they had reversed that on us. How nice of them to let us know. "
That information came to light last Summer when eBay advised me I had lost my Top Rated Seller status on eBay.com, despite my feedback rating of 100%, DSRs of 5.0, 5.0, 5.0, 5.0 and no case against me at eBay or PayPal in years.
A senior manager in Toronto advised in late July that the US team had reversed the earlier announcement regarding Canadian sellers. The decision was made at the "highest level".
And the management of eBay.ca decided to keep quiet about it. 😞

"Horse hockey! The much vaunted "extra exposure" is smoke and mirrors and not worth anything really."
That is a question of opinion.
My experience has been very different.
My sales to the USA dropped by 50%-60% immediately once the TRS status was removed from search results and listing pages in late July. That drop represents thousands of dollars every month. 😞
While the effect of positioning in search results is rather minimal, the real damage was done by potential buyers simply NOT looking for items from non-TRS sellers. eBay did a good job over the years convincing buyers to buy from TRS - the sellers you can trust for higher standards of service. Many American buyers in fact select TRS only as a filter, excluding all my listings in the process.
It is quite possible sellers in other categories had different experiences.
Now that my eBay store is closed I frankly no longer care.
