New defect system - does anyone know how far back they go on this?

I am wondering if anyone knows how far back they go with defects. I was looking at my seller dashboard and was trying to find out why I had 2 items not received as I could only recall one recent one and one from last year. When I looked at the report I have 4 items listed - 3 of them are from 2013.  I could not even find the 3 older items on a search.  Next question I guess then is how long it takes to have a defect drop off???

Also I had thought that you could only get 1 defect per item. I had a buyer open a case for item not as described & she also left negative FB (left it at the same time she opened the case so didn't really have a chance on that one) which is the only 1 I have and they are showing a count of 1 for each. Am really confused with this system. Yesterday when I looked I was at 1.86% and today am at 2.28% and have only had 1 buyer FB left in between and it was positive. Am really getting pretty discouraged - sales are down for me which is unusual at this time of year and now looks like I have lots my top rated seller status. Yikes this isn't fun anymore.

If you have less than 400 sales every 3 months the defects are counted for a full year.  Each defect for the past year will show up on your report but the percentage should reflect just one defect per transaction.The percentage is based on your total sales so if your sales have been going down your defect percentage may go up even if there are not an new defects.

If you get enough sales between now and the evaluation on the 20th you may be able to get your defect percentage down a bit.

The other items that you can't find may have defects from a 1,2 or 3 not as described DSR or a 1 for shipping time.

What PJ says. Plus, someone knows this better, there is a major recalculation coming in March for those who are on the annual watch.

Thanks PJ appreciate the clarification. My next review is Nov 20th. As 2 of my defects are cancellations from Nov. 14, 2013 I assume they should then drop off which depending on sales my give me my top seller status back. Going to be very hard for little guys like me to keep the top seller status I am thinking.

OMG, please don't tell me this...how much more can we take?  

I was kinda, sorta, hoping, praying, they would leave well enough alone and give us a respite for a year.  (Hahhh, right!)
