What on earth is going on ?
Payment for a sold item in on hold until DELIVERY???? When did this start?
I never had this before and it's the most ridiculous thing ever. I shipped a day after it sold with tracking, that should be more then enough to get my money
😞
I don't think I will sell on this platform again.

I presume you are talking about the user id you posted with.
You have not sold anything for quite a long time so eBay is treating you as a new/infrequent seller and are subject to payment holds.
You can find more info on this page:
https://www.ebay.ca/help/selling/getting-paid/getting-paid-items-youve-sold/payments-hold?id=4816
One of the favourites of scammers is to hijack old inactive accounts, list a bunch of stuff, take the money and run but never ship anything (or ship an empty box) which leaves eBay holding the bag and alienates buyers.
Payment holds help to eliminate this type of activity for the good of buyers, sellers and eBay istself.

Do you have a Managed Payments account set up?
EBay no longer has an agreement with Paypal. They have moved back to the in-house processing they had before they were forced to sell off PP in 2015.
If you want to get paid, you will have to set up the MP account.
You will need a chequing account in a Canadian bank. And then supply another form of ID.
EBay does mention our SINs, but most Canadians are leery of that.
I used my passport, DH his driving license.
EBay/MP also suggest micro-deposits, but those can be erratic.
And many sellers, myself included have set up online, low fee bank accounts for online sales not attached to our household or personal accounts.
And all your names must match.
If your name is John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,
you cannot have a bank account as John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith,
a Managed Payment account as J J Jingleheimer Smith,
and an eBay account as JJJ Smith.
New, returning and occasional sellers are subject to that Hold. It's not personal.
It may be a partial guard against hijacked accounts.
BTW, it's not Proof of Delivery. It's a 30 day Hold, which is actually helpful for sellers like me who rarely track anything.
I hope when you first signed up in 2003 that you registered with eBayCanada, because while there was a window for those grandfathered dotCOM accounts to register for MP, that has closed and it's more complicated.
FWIW- MP/eBay screwed up payments to two of my selling accounts while we were registering, but once the mess was sorted, the payments have been promptly and smoothly transferred every Tuesday since then.

Oh yes, since many returning sellers get upset about this too.
EBay has also changed how they count Views and Impressions.
They now ignore Views by bots, including your own peeks and their bots. Only real human based Views are recorded.
And the ones you see are from the last 30 days only, because: who cares that someone looked at your item seven months ago but did not buy?
