Paypal Fees

Hello Sellers,

Do you (as sellers) save Paypal fees if I (as a buyer) pay for multiple auctions in a single Paypal transaction?

For example, I just won an auction for a scarf ($1.55 total). Will the seller be charged the same fee from Paypal if I pay for the item by itself, versus with items from other auctions?

Thanks for any advice:)

It is better for seller if you pay for several his (her) items in one payment.

It may be even better for you:

Ask seller for invoice and it may be even saving for you for COMBINED shipping.

Usually in descriptions you find the reference to combined shipments.

The seller will save $0.30  every time you combine two purchases into one payment.

Basically, fees at PayPal are as follows:

$0.30 per payment

PLUS

2.9% of the value of the transaction.

So, the percentage paid to PayPal does not change but the second $0.30 is eliminated if two purchases are paid in one payment.

Three purchases in one payment - the saller saves $0.60

Four purchases in one payment - the seller saves $0.90

Five purchases in one payment - the seller saves $1.20

etc....

Pierre, correction:

Regular payments have $0.30 + 2.9%, Micropayments have fee $0.05 + 5%

Cross-border payments have additional 1% (canada buyer to US seller is cross-border).

If a seller sells usually under $7-$8, he is better off using micropayments.

The 1.0% cross border charge does not change the saving of $0.30 for combined payment (2 items) $0.60 (3 items) etc...  That was the question.

Very few eBay sellers use micropayments.

Let's say if you bought 5 items from me and paid for them separately, I'd be charged $0.30 x 5 + 2.9% of total

If you paid for all 5 of my items all at once, I'd be charged $0.30 x 1* + 2.9% of total

So yup. $1.20 is quite a significant savings (for the scenario I used) that could go to your seller instead of to Paypal =D Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

Nothing against Paypal...I appreciate their service, but I'd rather max the amount that actually goes to the seller:)
