This one has got to be an easy fix but is so bothersome on our end. The 2 areas of concern are when I revise a listing and sell similar.
At the end of the listing there is the option to select what promotion you want to use and for what percentage you want to promote, just like on dotCOM. Except whenever an adjustment is made or the option is turned on and used it doesn't work. I can change and add in anything i want but at the end, after i submit, the confirmation screen comes up and it always says "there's a problem with promoting your listings". So then i have to go back in and edit them individually again.
It's very weird..It never accepts the change or addition of promoted listings, never.
thanks

I noticed that also when I went to end listings with running promotions. I have found the only way to update them(Back to how they were was wait an hour or 2 and then use the Promotions Page Sellers Hub and add them again. Only work around I've been able to find.

Although that notice shows up on all dotCA promoted listings when they are uploaded, the Promotion itself seems to work.
I suspect there is a short delay between uploading the listing and adding the Promotion.
I haven't sold enough Promoted items to be sure and I Promote on both dotCOM and dotCA.
Where do we see our Promotion charges when something actually sells?

When I started seeing that error message I went in and rechecked my listing. The checkbox was not marked so unless it is doing it automagically on a delayed schedule that step is being skipped. That's when I went back in added manually via the promoted tab. As for charges they show up immediately in Sellers Hub billing and Promoted listing page. In Sellers Hub charges include any applicable GST/PST/HST.

I've found the best way to monitor what's happening with a campaign is to use the "Download report" feature provided in the PL Dashboard.
The downloaded file opens with Excel or any of the other spreadsheet app such as Google Sheets. I find these reports quite informative as they tally the number of impressions, clicks and sales for each item as well as the amount of PL fees charged.

You can add the items to promote from the 'Promoted listings → Dashboard'.
Related data can be viewed there also.
