How can 3 of the same items in the same category have 3 different trending rates shown in the promotion box? Makes me question the accuracy of the data presented. Am I missing something?

The sign that said casino when you walked in. I agree they can be an absolute mess at times. Ebay isn't much of a data company.

Those quoted rates are puzzling for sure, I've thought for awhile now that their AI must be scanning key words in the title, perhaps some factors along those lines may account for the variations. It's not unusual to see suggested rates from 5% all the way up to 25% in the same category with the only real difference between items being the title and photos.

I thought they were always around 7% perhaps with a little widget in the program that moved them randomly from 6.9% to 7.8% after a few hours.
I'll stick with my 1% PL, which makes up the difference between my Store/TRS rate and the published 10% FVF rate.
PL doesn't seem to move many items for me, but does seem to promote Views and once a customer sees my Store there seems to be a tiny uptick in purchases.
@ricarmic showed his experiences in November 2019 which were useful, although it should be noted that experiences in his category (stamps) may not transfer to others.

I recently relisted an item and went to promote it. Default came up as 7%. I chose 1 %. For some reason wouldn't let me add. So just went a different way. In that new way seconds later the posted rate was 6.7%, magically. To anyone using the promoted listings feature, keep an eye on the default percent. Choose whatever YOU feel comfortable with.
