I have some coins to list.
I read a post here where someone was complaining that a seller had cleaned a coin.
I'd love to clean these up a bit, but after that thread I'm no sure.
Is there some kind of rule about cleaning coins?
Would even a little wash be OK?

All Right …… but trust me: That seems very odd to me.
I find it hard to believe that experts never clean coins for re-sale and, moreover, it makes no sense.
An old circulated coin could have been through the laundry a few times before it ever gets into a collector's hands.

I concur.....do not clean old coins.
That said, if you had a coin that was encased in "muck", rubbing off some of that muck with your fingers would be fine but actually "cleaning" is not a good idea.
