Hey guys well I have a quick question. I'm just wondering does anyone know of any cheap shipping places in Winnipeg Manitoba? besides Canada Post?.
This morning I went to canada post to get a quote to see how much they charge to ship an IPHONE 4S charger and USB Cable and they wanted like $12.99 from Canada to Canada.. and $7.99 to ship to the states.
There is no way of competing with USA sellers with this rate?
does anyone happen to know where else I can use??
Thanks

"There is no way of competing with USA sellers with this rate? "
Welcome to the world of mail order business when based in Canada.
Not easy to compete with American sellers unless you provide something different or better.
Good Luck.

Canada Post is your only option. Your prices are odd. With Paypal shipping, my inside Canada costs average about $9-$10. There is no $7.99 to the USA. Small Packet under 249 grams is $7.80.
You can always take 2-3 hours and drive down to Pembina North Dakota. Actually, go down #59 to Lancaster MN. A little farther, but, you don't sit at the border for half an hour.

I took a look at one of your listing 140948247127
"US $2.99 United States Canada Post Small Packets - USA - Air"
Have you checked the actual postage rate with Canada Post?
Small Packet Air starts at $7.80
You may want to review ALL your listings.

Sorry I'm actually still kind of new to EBAY.
when you say "Paypal" shipping. You mean like printing labels off paypal when someone buys?
I have usually just put my items in an bubble envelope and brought it to the post office and send it. I send it oversized letter.
But now I want to sell Iphone 4S cables and chargers. but when I was at the post office they quoted me a $12 something to ship it to Canada..
And $7 something to ship to USA.

We realize that you are new. Not speaking for Pierre, but, I helped invent dirt. Gives you an idea.
"My eBay" page, sold, "print shipping label". That takes you to Paypal and you can print a shipping label. Minimum size is 23 X 14 X height. Gives 25% off domestic shipping rates. Does not affect small packet rates to the USA or world.
Under 2cm thickness it can go light packet. Over 2cm thick it becomes small packet, parcel rates.
USA rates:
0 - 249 grams $7.80
250 - 499 grams $10.35
500 - 999 grams $15.56

Thank you guys
Okayy soo I went to Canada Post today with my thing I am going to ship. It's going to Canada I got a quote.
The weight of the package is 0.62 (KG) And the dimensions are 23x15x2.5 Cm
The quote they gave me to send it "Regular Parcel" 6 Busniess Days it would cost $14.23 + Tax
Now, I went under paypal and tried this label thing and
the price I got was $14.72 + Tax Came out to almost the exactly the same. I thought Paypal offered a bit of a discount?.
I'm looking at the post above, Someone said if it's going to the united states between 0 - 100 Grams it will be $7.80 or something?
That is the right amount i got also from my quote to the states.. Now if I was to do it under paypal I get a discount off that $7.80?
Sorry guys thank you helping me out 🙂

1) For your Canada parcel, Use Expedited Parcel on PayPal instead of regular parcel to get a lower PayPal rate of 25% off.
2) If you use Small Packet USA Air at $7.80 for 0 to 250 grams, there is no PayPal discount. You just get the convenience of a printed label with all of the customs information done easily.

Do not go by the shipping amount in a listing. Many sellers in Canada put a lower cost for shipping than the actual cost of shipping so that they can be competitive with the USA sellers. The seller either takes a loss on the shipping or puts some of the shipping cost into the item price.
Some sellers price an item by looking at the price a USA seller charges for the item and the shipping cost to the USA. Then they use that total to figure out how to price their item from Canada.
When listing an item, think of total income form selling an item. Income = item sale price plus shipping charged. What the actual shipping cost you paid is from the total income for the sale. So you can create low shipping costs to make a listing attractive to USA buyers.

Do you happen to know the different price rates?
like I changed the weight and dimensions a few times and still keeps saying $10 something
like when does it jump to the next weight??
I'm sending things that the weight varies from 60g - 300g and still only $10 to send??

Since you will be selling items in a high fraud category, you should be aware of insurance and Delivery Confirmation.
First off. You don't have to use services that include these.
USPS charges extra for insurance and for DC. Canada Post either includes them in the price or they are not available for that service.
The postal system is very reliable. Not always fast, but very reliable. (I've been selling mail order for about 30 years. Very reliable.)
You are more likely to get a non-delivery claim from an eBay buyer than any other buyer. That being said, eBay will give you more sales than almost any other site.
You can include a tiny amount (10c or less) on every s&h fee to self-insure against loss or damage claims.
Get a VentureOne card from CP. You can order it online. It's free and gets you a 5% or so discount at the PO counter on many services. This discount is built in to the PP shipping labels.
And yeah- Expedited is a good deal.

So if I get a VentureOne Card And then use the Paypal shilling labels, (and click expedited) it already gives me like 25% off, but will it also give me another 5% off for having the card??

Sorry for double posting,
about my last message
I meant to say when does it jump to the next price rate?.
I'm just fooling around with it under the expidted thing you told me, testing different weights and dimensions.
Expedited Parcel
Canada starts at 750 grams, then 1 kg, 1.5 kg, 2.0, ... 30.0 kg (0.5 kg breaks)
USA starts at 500 grams, then 1 kg, 1.5 kg, 2.0, ... 30.0 kg (0.5 kg breaks)
BUT Expedited Parcel uses dimensional weight to override actual weight. The idea is to charge for weight and/or space used on a truck. So if you ship a 1 kg box of feathers, the box is very big and takes too much space on the truck.
Dimensional Weight = L (cm) x Width (cm) x Height (cm) / 6000
So a box 30 x 20 x 10 cm has a DW of 1 kg. Even if this particular box with item packaged weighs 350 grams, it will be charged the rate for 1 kg.
So it is very important to enter accurate dimensions of the box that you will be using to ship in. Too big a box and you can pay needlessly more for shipping.
If you use Small Packet, no DW applies.

Anything under 2cm and under 250 grams going to the US use light packet
Anything 250-500 grams use small packet
Anything 500 grams or more Expedited is usually cheaper or around the same price as Small packet because of the paypal discount when printing label and you end up with Tracking and insurance ....
Keep in mind anything of a good value should always have tracking and insurance but that is based on your own risk level your willing to take on ..
Shipping to Canada ..
Anything under 2cm and 500 grams ship lettermail
Anything bigger Print label off of paypal Expedited and with you discount it is always cheaper then Regular Parcel..
If you do not want to print of paypal you can easily get a venture one card business or not.. They are meant for businesses but I used one for 2 years before became a business...
