TODAY  I SENT A MESSAGE TO A VENDOR REGARDING HIS LISTING OF A VINTAGE CARTIER LIGHTER. HIS LISTING STATES THAT IGNITION IS UNCONFIRMED DUE TO A LACK OF GAS. THAT IS A LIE SINCE HIS MESSAGE SAYS THAT HE HAS MANY LIGHTERS  AND HE DOESNT CHECK THEM ALL. WELL IF HE DOES THAT THEN HIS LISTIN FOR SHOULD SAY SOLD AS IS. THE FACT IS IF HIS BUSINESS IS BASED ON THE SALE OF EXPENSIVE VINTAGE LIGHTERS THIS KIND OF DECLARATION IS PREPOSTEROUS. ALSO ALL HIS LISTINGS HAVE TERRIBLE PHOTOS THAT DONT ALLOW YOU TO ZOOM IN ON THE PRODUCT TO DETERMINE CONDITION. HOW CAN EBAY ALLOW SUCH A PRACTICE? ITS BAD ENOUGH THAT WE CANT CALL THEM ANYMORE AND ALL THEY DO IS REFER YOU TO A WEB SITE TO SOLVE YOUR. IF THIS IS IDEA OF CUSTOMER SERVICE ITS SORELY LACKING. ALSO THE QUALITY OF THEIR CS AGENTS HAS DETERIORATED. AS A MASTER REVIEWER FOR BUSINESSES FOR GOOGLE THIS DETERIATION IN ETHICS IS UNEXPECTED AND SURPRISING.

There are phone reps. They are employed by a sub-contactor in Utah and are poorly trained and have no authority. Mostly they agree with you, get you off the phone, and move on to the next caller.

The social media accounts are covered by actual well-trained eBay employees who have some authority.
