A reminder heads up when sending random offers to buyers.
I brought this up in a discussion a few weeks ago. It appears it is still happening. When a seller sends an offer to a buyer and they(the buyer) are using the app it will show free shipping even if when the seller sends it, it displays calculated shipping. This is causing most irritated customers or the alternative, buyers refusing to pay. Has there been any luck in researching this issue to correct?

Side note: If you review Send an invoice for the transaction it will show a default shipping rate. In this case expedited. It should also show regular and the pick up option for this particular item. I include for buyers comparison purposes only.

Why should it show more than one shipping service, unless the seller has included more than one service that he is willing to use?
I only offer one. If the buyer wants a faster/tracked/ more expensive service she can ask and I can upgrade at her expense.
I can also upgrade at my own expense if I feel the need.
Do you mean eBay, in addition to defaulting Best Offers to Free Shipping, is removing all the seller's chosen services?

With Send an offer it displays when buyer receives "Free Shipping". I have 2 screenshot examples to prove it. I also made a purchase of 4 items from a seller a few months ago using best offer. They had to go through major hoops to send a revised invoice for shipping. They ended up just refunding and losing out on the FVF's.
As for shipping options, I have always given buyers as many choices as possible based on an items value. This way any potential buyer can compare based on their requirements. In the past it was easy to find US sellers doing the same. Now, not so much. Personally I feel there is nothing wrong with giving buyers a choice.

So is it currently 4 + 10 days potentially before an order is cancelled?

Hi @lotzofuniquegoodies - from our perspective once you submit a cancellation we consider the order cancelled. The 10 day 'confirmation' is referring mainly to situations where a buyer hasn't paid or we can't verify a refund is issued, and is related strictly to the automatic credit of your Final Value Fees.
In those circumstances we ask the buyer to confirm they received a refund, that they never paid or that they did pay but haven't yet received a refund. After the 10 days has passed we provide an email update to you about the status of your credit. If a buyer indicates the paid but have not received a refund we let you know we aren't able to issue a credit automatically and refer you to Customer Support for further assistance.
Wording from your screenshot is a bit confusing - thanks for the call out!

As far as it goes for Order Cancels much of the procedure causes confusion for sellers and buyers alike. Especially when no payment has been received.
Many buyers will accept offers then it's crickets as far as it goes for hearing from them in regards to paying or if, on the other side have NO intention of paying. Or they do not realize they need to close the cancellation request to complete the process. A seller can only open the non paying after the 4 days, then they are at the whims of the buyer for closing....According to that screenshot they(the seller) is unable to close for 10 days but they are still on the hook for associated FVF's UNTIL it is officially closed. This leaves the seller in eBay limbo until either the buyer accepts or time expires. Nowhere does it state "eBay considers case closed".
Note: I believe there was a previous mention of it being 8 days.
Is the note about 10 days an error on eBay's side?
Is the issue regarding buyers incorrectly seeing Free Shipping for offers being investigated?
