Why eBay doesn't include tracking numbers for the sold items on ca? There are tracking numbers for the sold items on com but not ca. What is wrong with eBay for not including tracking numbers?? Anyone knew why eBay is doing this insane thing on ca??

All my purchases from Canada and the United States show Tracking Numbers on eBay.ca.

All my sold items to Canada, United states and the Rest of the World show Tracking Numbers on eBay.ca.

Are you looking at this as a Buyer or as a Seller?

Hub or non-hub?

I can see the tracking numbers with the stuff I've sold on ebay.ca

Tracking is a Seller Protection against unwarranted Item Not Received claims.

Giving the number that shows Delivery Confirmed will either win the claim, or give the seller a few days grace because the shipment is shown to be in transit.

For Buyers it's just the warm fuzzies. If the buyer is not home to receive the parcel, the carrier will leave a Notice of where and when it can be picked up. Sometimes a courier will give a phone number which allows a delivery appointment to be made.

That being said, tracking in Canada is very expensive. A 199 gr item that can be shipped for $2.95 by domestic LetterMail anywhere in Canada without tracking, would cost $17.07 as a Regular Parcel , shipped from BC to ON with tracking.

Your Canadian purchases may not show tracking because your Seller knows Canada Post is good at its job and most people are honest. so she didn't charge you for unnecessary service.

It is on the Orders page for Seller Hub , and for each transaction where it says +Tracking Number that a seller can add the tracking number for each transaction.

Click on the arrow under the Actions column for each transaction, and the option to add the tracking number is there.

There is also a place to add tracking numbers towards the bottom on the ..... View Record page for each transaction.

A seller enters the tracking number.... and the buyer gets this information transferred to their purchase page by eBay.

A Seller only has to add a tracking number if they do not use Shippo or PayPal to buy the shipping label -- it's an automatic update from those two.

I wonder why eBay has hidden that option in the Hub. It was so easy to add a tracking number before the Hub came into effect. Another change that was not made by an eBay user obviously. 😞

I use PayPal and it is not automatic to my sold items.

I used tracking number on all my items regardless of any size/weight to protect myself. I have a deep discount on PayPal so it is more reasonable than Canada Post.

Hi. I can't find "orders page", "actions", "View Records". So where are they? I just wish eBay would leave the old format alone as it is much easier!! Thanks.

If it isn't there, it hasn't been entered or there isn't one available.

A tracking number is visible under the item(s) title on your 'Purchase history' page, if entered by the seller.

How would eBay know a tracking number without it being added by a third party?

I checked the last 4 weeks of sales and all tracking numbers from both were updated on eBay. What I do not know is how quickly the updates showed up.

The discount on PayPal for Canada Post labels is the same as the discount directly from the Canada Post website (SnapShip or EST Online). And currently also the same as Shippo.
