Transaction number for non-tracking packages

A while ago I saw that someone said they put in a number for a non-tracked package, I think they said it was beside the price, can someone tell me where that number is? Is it "order number", "Authorization code"?

Works best for USA. eBay has (for now) been getting the USPS scans for Small Packet.

I save my online label purchases to my computer in PDF format before printing, this allows viewing of the number even after the package has been mailed (plus I can increase the viewing size of the image so I can actually read the number).

Just wondering if most sellers put in this tracking number all the time or only when someone claims they did not receive their parcel?  I keep a record of the tracking number for myself but have never put it in as a matter of course after a sale.

My US shipments are sent via USPS, I buy the postage from Stamps.com so it is uploaded to eBay automatically.

For International or Canada I never add tracking but 99% of my Internationals have no tracking, Canadian Expedited does but I don't upload that tracking ever.

There is no tracking upload requirement for Canadian sellers, my Canadian Expedited are never late so there is no point.

The only late shipments I get are International where the buyer ticks the late box when leaving feedback but since these are untracked there is nothing I can do about it.

I think you misunderstood me.  I was only asking about the Transaction number for non-tracking packages (UR........CA) like Dennis mentioned & shows an example of.   I always put in the tracking number for Small Packet Tracked or Expedited.  But just wondered if I should be putting this number (UR........CA) in tracking on eBay everytime.

As I said 99% of my International (non-usa) are sent without any actual tracking. This means there is no point in uploading a reference number or other type of id# that won't get an ACCEPTANCE scan.

Uploading tracking is only useful in the situation where you get an actual scan within your handling time. This would then override any buyer from ticking the arrived late box.

I don't enter mine, because I don't want them to be confused about the shipment not showing a departure scan.  Plus, it's always fun to enter it after they've filed a claim for iterm not received.  Had that happen TWICE now in the past couple of months!!!  And guess what?  Both times they were DELIVERED.  And both times the buyers went and hid under a rock after the 'DELIVERED' scan showed up.  Thankfully ebay automatically closes those INR claims, because the buyer is too busy hiding under their rock after they've been caught scammin'! LOL!

For Small Packet USA, I usually do not bother entering unless requested.

I don't want the buyer to be worrying, since the first scan to show on ebay will be when the USPS gets the packet, not when Canada Post accepted. I do get the over-the-counter scan receipt when dropping off (I like talking to the clerks).
