WE MUST BOMBARDING eBAY

We must bombarding eBay to stop charging final value fees on the shipping costs now that they are going to charge us the taxes on our monthly invoices.  It is like eBay is charging us twice, one Canada Post charges us taxes and then eBay now are going to charge us on monthly invoices that include final value fees on the shipping costs.  We must call eBay to stop it.  Are you going to help and to do or not?

Otherwise it is going to be expensive as sellers every month, about 25% every month and we may have to increase our asking prices in our listings.  Thanks.

Do the math correctly.

There is no way ebay collecting GST/HST on fees is going to cost you an extra 25% per month.

Re: WE MUST BOMBARDING eBAY

Blame Brian Mulroney.

You bring the torches, I have my own pitchfork.

We are talking about the GST on the fees.

Not eBay.

EBay was 'protecting us' by cheating on the GST owed to the Canadian taxpayer for years.

They have negotiated a deal whereby they will now remit the GST due on our fees, and Revenue Canada will just ignore all the other money they didn't collect.

If you are not registered to collect GST yourself, your monthly payment will rise by 0.5% to 1.5% depending on your province.

If you are registered to collect GST, you will have another juicy Input Tax Credit that the government will be paying you.

"...about 25% every month..."

?????

Need a new calculator?

The GST/HST charged by the federal government (not eBay)  will add 0.5% to 1.5% to your cost of sales depending on the province where you reside.

It will add NOTHING if you are GST/HST registered.

The question has been asked before but remains unanswered: why don't you register?

If you do not like to pay taxes, complain to your member of Parliament, not eBay

Re: WE MUST BOMBARDING eBAY

These sales taxes on our monthly fees won't even be noticeable to most users. I daresay that if ebay had just added them without announcing it first, one in fifty sellers might have noticed it. I am not in the least bit worried about it. If the taxes were being charged on the goods SOLD to buyers, well, that might be worth working my knickers into a twist over.

Here's the thing...Ebay doesn't care about the sellers! You can complain all you want and nothing will change. Don't waste your time!

Some months it will be, other not so much. Last invoice I had to pay a little less than $100 in fees. If I had been taxed, the difference would have been $15. Which is quite high.

I agree with you 125%, but there are 2 choices, sell on Ebay and pay the tax or sell elsewhere where you may not be taxed yet.
