When is the 2013 Spring Seller Update coming out?

In 2012, it was announced Feb 28, 2012? In 2011, March 15, 2011? So if the pattern is followed, we should see the 2013 Seller Update this month.

What will it have?

Are all of the free promos going to be made into a free or partially free eBay site? I doubt fully free but maybe a fixed amount of free per account, non-store and store. And maybe not just auctions but fixed price.

Some think the free promos are to get more inactive eBayers to sell. But now that so many established sellers have setup new accounts to get the 50 free auctions and get the free promos, that does not seem to be the main reason.

eBay does not seem to care who sets up new accounts because the free promos overall seem to generate more sales for ebay.  A seller can now list anything, even the slow or dead items that they tried to sell before and sell a few. Sell through rate is poor but items sell.

So I expect some sore of partially insertion fee free model for non-store and store level. Maybe 50 free auctions and 50 free fixed price for a non-store. A basic store gets 100 free auctions and 100 free fixed price, a premium store more.

Today, it does not make any sense to have a basic store because of all of the free promos. Maybe a store will be free for all?

I feel something is going to change in the fee structure and stores.

Now will final value fees go up to pay for the free?

What other changes? Some tweaks to the existing system for feedback and DSRs. Some other tweaks in other areas. I cannot see a major change other than fees.

I expect you are more or less correct. In the past the only really significant changes have been to fees. All the other stuff is mostly fluff that really means little although it sends many seller into orbit.

It's been two years since there was any meaningful change to fees (fvf on shipping, lower overall fvf) so it's probably due.

The listing promos have been very good for me but I am a bit worried that no listings fees all the time might turn this place into the world's biggest parking lot. On the other hand I like doing a search on something I have and finding a bunch of insanely overpriced FP listings that have been rolling over for 2, 3 or more years.

I'd like free listings but I'd accept Auction Listings at the same rate as Fixed Price. Not quite so much if they were to make the fvf percentage the same especially in Media where they are already higher than any other category.

eBay's first quarter ends on March 31st, we should see the announcement pretty soon.
