heads up for store subscribers!

Throughout 2020 the bonus 10k/50k/75k listings for store subscribers were good on both .ca and .com. As of today if you have a store on .ca they only apply to your .ca listings, not .com. On .com you are still getting the old allotment for your store, for example 350 listings on a Basic store, but not the larger bonus amount.

I'm not sure how things look today if you have your store on .com. Could someone let us know?

FWIW I have yet to get the 100k promo which I gather is working on both .ca and .com? Is there any rhyme or reason to who's getting that one?

On this Store ID I have 10K listings with dotCOM and 100K listings with dotCA.

On my other Store ID I have 50K with dotCOM and 100k with dotCOM.

Both are category dependent, but I don't see what the categories are, although since Crafts and Collectibles seem to be among them, I'm mostly alright.

BTW - dotCOM is on Pacific Time and I only saw the new promotion after midnight Pacific Time. If you are farther East, there was nothing posted until then.

My Anchor store is still a .COM store.

(and I am in the stamps category which gets the bonus listings)

Here are my totals:
.com = 10,000
.CA = 110,000

I haven't looked into anything because I only have just over 4,000 items in total across the two sites....

Just out of curiosity are you signed up for Managed Payments yet? That was supposed to be the 'condition' for the increased store listings on .com but it was never made clear if that was going to include Canadians selling on .com too.

I do not have a store, have been getting the 100K free promo, but only on.CA.

For .COM, just the usual 200 free listings, no additional free promos ...

You didn't ask me but I am not yet on managed payments.

That's what I figured since you said it's an anchor store and 10k is the standard. I'll be curious to see what happens once you are. Maybe the 100k promo is a temporary way to make up for that issue in the meantime.

I am fine with selling on either site, I'd just rather not have to go to the trouble of switching everything over just to end up switching it back again a month or two later.

Apparently I am registered for Managed Payments on both Store accounts, but I am not in the program  mostly because I want to use more than one Canadian account (since DH and I share the PP address) and also have my USD payments go into our American bank account, which MP does not allow.

In May, (store renews in June) depending on how the "ebay world" looks at that point, I may try to switch my store from .COM to .CA but I have a preponderance (2300) of grandfathered listings (item specifics etc missing) which I am not 100% sure will allow me to seamlessly migrate.

I certainly don't like paying the 25% more against the $300US store fees but the manual effort to fix those 2300 listings is large.

I'll also have to look at these new store rates to see if I need to be anchor anymore or not. I am very happy with the "special" merchant support CSRs that come with the anchor level, and that is worth paying some extra $$ to me.

Time will tell.

It would seem my .com listings got shifted to .ca since I have both the 50k and 100k bonus listings available on .ca that started Jan 1 and expire Feb 1 but the .com where I usually list everything is now at zero. The 50k listings on .com expired Jan 1 and were never renewed. Am I to understand this is now permanent and there are no more bonus listings for Cdn sellers on .com?

I'll take a 6 month refund for the Basic Store Subscription, to receive 350 + 250 listings, I've been paying for.

10,000 or 100,000... What the...?

An average Walmart superstore lists approx. 100,000 SKUs.

I don't know what to think of these promotions, they have me so confused I've no idea if I'm coming or going ... 200 to 100,000 makes for quite a ride for non store subscribers.  Listing promos of one sort or another have been popping up pretty well non-stop this year on .ca.  nothing at all on .com . I feel like I've been slowly sucked into a game of ebay chicken !

I'm registered on ebay.ca

No store subscription

100,000 free again this month on .ca  ... eligible for pretty well every category except autos etc.

200 on .com

Promotions are for the good of eBay not for the benefit of sellers .... or buyers.

Now there's a tune i've not heard before ... a Stompin Tom version might have done well.

Stompin Tom was very proud of singing only his own music.

I was at a concert once, circa 1979-80. He was the warmup act to Kitty Wells.

During his segment, he remarked "Some people ask why I don't sing that nice Nashville music. Well, I will when they start singing my music." Loud cheers from the audience.  Segue to Sudbury Saturday Night.
