it won't accept a Canadian postal code in zip code area..how to fix

I am trying to sell on ebay US. I am in Canada. When I reach the point that it asks for a zip code, it wont accept a Canadian B3M-1A4 postal code. How do I fix this? Also, where do I go to change my phone number? thanks

Are you trying to create a listing? 

The only place I see it asking for a zip code is the item location (but there are several different versions of the form to create a listing -- so what I see may differ from what you see).

Item Location

Country: Canada

ZIP Code: N1R4A4

City, State: Cambridge, Ontario

...

Another thought: You're not trying to set up calculated shipping are you? That only works for eBay.CA for Canada based items.  For eBay.COM shipping choices (from Canada) are all flat rate:

To the USA
  Economy Shipping from outside US (11 to 23 business days)
  Standard Shipping from outside US (6 to 10 business days)
  Expedited Shipping from outside US (1 to 4 business days)

Outside the USA, to the rest of the world (including Canada)
All flat rate, no calculated, countries are selectable.
  Economy Int'l Shipping
  Standard Int'l Shipping
  Expedited Int'l Shipping

Phone numbers are associated with the addresses you have on file.

If you are typing the zip (postal code) with a dash(-) it probably will not work

At the very end of the selling form, before submit, it will show your address, make sure it says Canada. By default it has the correct addy but country says United States. There is a "change" beside that, a drop box and I think Canada is 3rd from the top. I had to do this a number of times for each listing until it "stuck". Called ebay.. another glitch . As of yesterday, it was staying at Canada. I hope this helps.

The problem with zombie threads is that the advice may be out of date and now incorrect.

Have you tried the solutions suggested in the thread?

I don't understand how getting a job (and congratulations in the current economy!) has any impact on selling here. Many sellers are working full-time and also sell on eBay. Some even sell on multiple sites as well as holding down a job.
