open box listing usage question

I have a bunch of things I used for maybe 1 to 2 hours then put back in the box, not a scratch on them.

so the ebay definition is

An item in excellent, new condition with no wear. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. The item includes original accessories. The item may be a factory second. See the seller's listing for full details and description.

is minimal usage and no cosmetic difference from brand new considered wear?

can I/should I list them open box?

You've used them so technically they should be sold as used, not as open box.

if you've used them, they are used.

Open Box to me means never sold to consumer. It could have been opened for store display, to show a customer, or other in-house reasons but has never been used, installed, or sold at retail.

Even if you used it for only a few minutes, it still is USED.

I suppose I'll list pre-owned, but if they don't classify store displays as wear, where who knows who can do whatever they want to an item, then an hour or two of testing should not be wear, their definition should be more clear.

If you purchase a vehicle and drive it off the lot it is now a used vehicle.

Same here!

Used.
But in your favour, most don't read or inform themselves much further than the top of the listing.
