Some sellers are offering jewlery made of what they are calling "Titanium Steel". What is that ? ? Is it a selling gimmick to make people think they are getting a better product ? No Titanium at all ? ?

I googled and only found a few discussion boards where people were as confused as you (and me).
The guesses were:
- Steel with a titanium plating- no advantage since titanium scratches easily
- Steel with a very low titanium content- like 0.1 %
- Typo
- Flaming trousers.
It's not a known alloy and if you want titanium, don't go for that listing.
And I learned that while steel is magnetic, titanium isn't. So if the item attracts magnets, it's not titanium.

From my googling it should be (if genuine) stainless steel with a 1-4% coating of titanium.
