vacation mode

I was on vacation for three weeks and put all my listings on "vacation mode". I have over 800 listings and do not have a store. I ended the "time away" last night and I am now being charged all these insertion fees. Why is this happening?

Re: vacation mode

Hello,

My understanding is that if you do not have a store than you are only alloted 250 free listings or something along those lines.  I'm wondering if you were taking advantage of the ebay free 100k promo which ended at the end of March.

Hope this helps.

Re: vacation mode

thank you for your reply. I contacted eBay and they're processing a refund.

Those free promotional listings are probably the culprit.

When they are over, you start being charged for any above

You can compare the fees including FVF on Store and non-Store listings to see if the $25 a month is worth your while for a Basic Store, which offers 1000 "free" listings.

BTW- you might consider as your listings come to an end that New Listings are given a boost in the Cassini logarithm. This means, in practice, that sellers should try to open a new listings (or more) each day, so Searches for Newly Listed and About to Close always include something of yours.  (Given that there are over  1.5 billion listings on eBay.)

@gcpellerin

The listings that renewed that were over your 250 listing/month limit would have be charged whether or not you were on time away.

eBay fees (such as listing-related fees or any subscription fees you have) will also continue to apply during your time away.

I'm glad that you were able to get a credit although they weren't obligated to do that.

You have over 1000 listings right now so as those renew, you might want to keep your eye on the number of listings that you have available.
