E bay fees

Hello, I am just wondering what fees would be associated with selling a phone for about $ 500, I imagine that it is a percentage.

Final Value Fee is 10% of the total.

Paid through PayPal adds another 30 cents + 2.9%-3.9% depending where it is sold.

So assuming you listed it for $500 with free shipping in Canada and it sold to someone in Canada then

$  0.00 - Listing Fee (you get 50 free per month as an individual seller)

$50.00 - Final Value Fee (10% for a non store seller)

$   -.-    - GST/HST on the eBay fee (2.50 to 7.50 depending which province you are in)

$14.80 - PayPal fee (2.9% for a Canadian sale)

=====

Total would be in the $67.30 to $72.30 range.

For comparison: the A-river site would be $77.49 for the same thing.

2 fees, the sell fee and the postage fee, postage fee can be rid just ofering free postage.

Not exactly.

Free Postage just means your cost for shipping is included in the selling price.

So a new seller paying 10% FVF on selling prices would also be paying 10% on the included postage.

There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

The cost of any 'free' item is included in the cost of the paid item.

This page explains and breaks down the various fees.
